Odometer won't work unless headlights turned off, radio lights dim, blinker won't blink all the time now battery light comes on but battery tests good. Intermittent issues getting worse. Horn


You probably have a bad ground in the electronic instrument cluster, or cluster connection to wiring harness. I would recomend you have a qualified auto tech diagnose it. It is not a easy fix.

1988 Dodge Omni won't start


On the positive side of battery Julie is where your fusible links are,you say it's getting hot,I would follow all wires,look for burnt or swollen wires,they go to starter.Here's a wiring diagram,it shows that you have 3 fusible links leaving your positive battery,they need looking at,check all wiring in line with positive battery cable.Look at diagram number 25,enlarge to see.

Try jumping the relay to get pump on?

Read a wiring diagram-- so you know what your doing?

Check Power & Grounds to pump when the tank was down?

Won't start


How about corroded battery cables (internal)

Fusible Link wiring corroded & open circuit,does
everything electrical work except the starting circuit?

Turn key & have power to starter solenoid ?
Neutral Switch !
Ignition Switch !

Tough to guess without wiring diagrams,
to see where to start testing

Can't fix what you don't know you have

fit a battery isolator inside the car under the dash on the battery earth is the cheapest soloution.Or a wiring diagram to trace the wires to locate the fault which i suspect could be on the radio wiring where 2 feeds are used one a permanant 12v feed and one a switchable feed via ignition switch causing a backfeed if done wrong .

It won't turn over


Try this procedure:
Check the battery like this:
Turn on the headlights, then try to start the car.
If the headlights do not dim or go out, then the battery is likely ok.
Check that the battery cable plus post, goes to the starter, Minus post to a good ground, like the engine.
If wiring is ok, then look at the starter solenoid for a good connection, and proper voltage at the starter.
Problem is most likely the Solenoid's bendix gear or starting relay, Have someone bang on the starter while you try to start the car. This usually works by dislodging the bendix gear..

No feed to fuel pump


Model Year is always good to know, just to help determine age of the vehicle.

If this bike has sat all winter, you may need to clean connections at the fuse box or where they are exposed. The loss of a ground connection is just as bad as losing the + connection. It takes both to complete the circuit. Grease on clean exposed connections seals them somewhat.

Make sure you have a fully charged battery. Modern electronics require minimum voltage amounts or won't function.

You could also have a fuse blown, or a switch (Ignition) that isn't working properly. I would suggest that you test voltage from the Battery, through the fuses, any fusible links that may appear to still be good, but may have burned through inside of the wiring harness. Verifying your voltage all the way through the switch and to that wiring is really the only way to find this problem.

This would also involve testing any sensors that have input/output signals that can turn on/off, the module & fuel supply.

A nice digital multimeter will prevent burning anything out, but you should also consult the wiring diagram & service manual to make sure you don't hook up to anything extra-sensitive and cause it to malfunction. LED probes are usually safe for testing those.

If animals had access while in storage, you'll identify any broken or semi eaten wiring & repair during your inspection.

I have a 1992 Nissan that somebody cut into the wires going to the battery now I've tried to wire it back together but now I'm getting no pulsating ground and truck won't start but will run if...


This truck will not run else you pour gas into throtle body.
Okay, you know its fuel, you are saying that the wires to battery were cut.

Before going into the wiring did you use a noid light to see if there is a pulse at injectors? or are you thinking its that due to the fuel not getting to engine?
I would make sure the fuelpump is operating and suppling enough fuel pressure and test the injectors for power and ground, a noid light would be a great cheap tool to test.

If you have already tested and there is no pluse then check the wiring but take note, check wiring to distributor as your pulse will come from that and the computer.

Look for any blown fuses or power wires that are missing. i will enclose a few wiring diagram that i think will help you in your testing . also here is the injector wiring diagram you requested for the 1992 nissan pick-up.

Honda Pilot 2003 won't start. batter is good. seems to be an electrical issue because starter won't turn at all and there are strange clicking noises when key is turned


I would be re-checking the battery. Make sure that when you have it tested they do a "load test". Sometimes a battery can seem good, but be bad when there is a large load placed on it. This test will reveal if that is the case. It could also be a starter problem, and it is possible (but unlikely) that it is a wiring problem.
