SOURCE: need wiring diagram for 2000 dodge neon

i would recommend buying a Haynes manual, as they have very good diagrams and schematics. If you do not want to buy one, though, you can create an online garage on Autozone.com by registering (which is free) and add your car to the garage to get access to a free manual online. These manuals are kind of hit-or-miss, though, and i have had mixed results with them. But for free, it is worth looking into first.

i hope this helps,

try to look for fuel pump whether in order or not? You can test by open the fuel filter at the engine. If the filter doesnt have fuel probably the fuel pump needed to be replaced

Replaced starter in 99 Saturn. Battery went dead, got new one ...same thing. REPLACED ALT. SAME THING. Had alt tested, it was good. Wont hold a charge, wont start. Could starter wires be crossed?

Instead of guessing (could wires be crossed ) Testing the electrical circuits is the way to find the problem . Battery goes dead when ? over night ,while driving the vehicle ? If it goes dead overnight you have a parasitic drain on the electrical system . Look at a wiring diagram an check the wires for correct hook up . Free wiring diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Enter vehicle info. Year , make , model an engine size . under system click engine then under subsystem click starting . Click the search button ,then the blue link . Really don't think you could cross the wire's ,only two size wires (connectors ) . only hooks up one way.

If you can't find the problem after viewing these videos your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop.

Why wont my car start?

If the two you crossed were on the starter solenoid, then it's not getting juice from the ignition switch. Possible reasons include:
Make sure it's in neutral or park, clutch depressed. Then possible problems are bad ignition switch (have you had any problems like having to wiggle the key to get the starter to work?); open fuse (check fusebox); open fusible link or wire (troubleshoot with meter and wiring diagram); bad switch on clutch or gearshift mechanism. (One way to determine if one of the switches is bad is to short it with a wire and see if it starts then.)

I have a 2000 chevy malibu ls. at first..we just thought that the battery needed charged..so we bought a new battery.. then it still wouldnt start..so we bought a new starter and replaced that..and it...

DO you hear a clicking when you turn the key to start? Solenoid relay make a click sound when energized.
If the solenoid is not mounted on the starter motor then it will be near the battery
The key switch sends power to the solenoid. the solenid is a big remote controlled switch, and it takes power from the battery to the starter motor

Explorer (93 xlt)wont start

Alternator just charges your battery and wont have any direct link to a starter problem. It is very important that starter wires be very snug when replacing the starter. especially the big wires. However it is the little wire that activates the main relay. I don't remember if this car has a remote solenoid or not.
If it has a remote solenoid then the main positive wire from the battery will go to the solenoid mounted on the fire wall or fender and then one big wire will go down to the starter. The start solenoid will have the battery wires hooked to it but also a little wire from the ignition switch. If you dont hear a click then either the ignition switch is bad or the solenoid is bad. Or perhaps the contact from the ignition at the solenoid is bad.

Subaru ea81 starter solenoid wiring diagram

Some starter solenoids are mounted on the fender near the battery and some are on the starter itself.

Typically the ones mounted on the fender have two larger posts and one smaller post. For the larger posts: One connects strait to the positive post on the battery. The other connects strait to the starter. The smaller post connects to the neutral safety switch which connects to the start position of the ignition switch. Here is a diagram. Make sure the solenoid is grounded good.

For the solenoid that is mounted on the starter: Connect the positive post of the battery to the large post on the starter. Connect smaller neutral safety switch/ignition switch wire to the smaller post.

Here is a diagram if you have both solenoids

Don't forget to hook backup any other wires that were hooked to the positive side of battery/solenoid like alternator wire etc.

My car wont start I changed my water pump n now my car wont start

It is a good idea (recommended) to disconnect the battery when working on electrical components. If you disconnected the batter, make sure the battery cables are secure on the terminals (clean terminals if necessary) - apply a terminal grease to prevent corrosion and acid build up. Also, check the connection on the alternator - it's very possible this may have been disturbed or disconnected by accident during the installation of wires. Part of your message says "my car won't start, I changed my water..." did you change your water pump? There may be a crankshaft and/or camshaft sensor near the water pump. Make sure that these are plugged in and secure. Check your ignition fuse in the fuse box, the starter relay(under the hood) and the fusable link, next to or near the battery, or starter. Check all electrical connection that may prevent the vehicle from starting.
