SOURCE: can't find reset switch for fuel pump on mazda mpv

It is typically located in the rear of the vehicle in one of the side compartments. It has a red button on it. I would also check the fuel pump fuse, and relay.

SOURCE: Do you know where or if a 2000 Mazda 626 has a

Hello, I am going to make a few assumptions here. The vehicle has an electric fuel pump and you replaced it. The vehicle has fuel injection. The engine is actually cranking, just not starting, when you say "car still won't crank". You are getting fire to the spark plugs at the plug ends. You checked the fuel pump for power at the pump. No power, then you back traced the wire to the fuse block and checked the fuse to see if it was blown. If the fuse is good back trace the power to the ignition switch and/or ECM for power. You have power at the pump, check the ground and make sure it is connected properly. Will the pump run when someone turns the key on? Pump runs, check fuel manifold for pressure. No pressure, check the fuel filter for blockage, or replace it. Fuel pump doesn't run, new replacement pump is defective. There is usually some type of control module for the fuel pump on fuel injected vehicles. Good Luck, RAC

How do I check the fuel pressure on a 2000 model mazda millenia with a 2.3 engine in it

Hi.

You connect a fuel pressure gauge like this to the pressure rail. Pressure in this car must be between 35 and 45 psi. If pressure is too low look for kinked fuel lines and eventually replace the pump. If the pressure drops down more than 10 psi in five minutes or if the pressure is considerably higher than that replace the fuel pressure regulator. Below the parts that may need testing:

1. Fuel tank
2. Shut-off valve
3. Non-return valve
4. Fuel pump
5. Fuel pump (Transfer)
6. Fuel filter (High-pressure)
7. Injector
8. Pressure regulator
9. PRC solenoid valve
10. Fuel pump relay
11. Fuel pump resistor and relay (KJ model)

Dose 1998 Mazda Millenia s have fuel shut off switch? and if there is one where it is located?

No, there is no inertia/shut off switch. However, if you have the 2.3 Liter engine, there is an extra relay in the pump circuit. The 2.5 liter model has only the pump fuse and pump relay in the circuit. In both cases, the engine control module turns the pump on and off. The ECM is rarely the cause of a fuel system failure. If there is a problem I can help you with, please explain the symptoms and anything that has been done to the car recently as well as anything you have checked so far.

Fuel filter on a 1996 Mazda Millenia

The fuel filter is accessable from inside the trunk. remove the trunk carpet mat. You will notice a circular panel on the left side which is held to the trunk floor with two screws. remove the screws and panel and you will immediately see the fuel filter. When replacing the fuel filter, note the direction of fuel flow and Do Not Install The New Fuel Filter Backwards!
