Check to see if the compressor is actually working. The front bit is spinning with the pulley. Check for gas leaks Have an ac mechanic do a leak test and tests on high and low pressure switches.

Ac compressor not clutching

time for a new compressor. It's a magnetically controlled belt driven compressor. If it isn't clutching anymore, it's dead. pretty soon it'll start squealing or making other funky noises if it isn't completely dead yet, then soon you'll press the "ac" button and nothing will happen.

When A/C or defrost is on, it inadvertantly kicks on and off when it wants to. Already checked...no loose connections, just flickers and comes on and off when it wants to. Sometimes works fine, other...

The AC will cycle on and off as normal operation. If it's not coming on when it should, it could be low refrigerant, bad compressor, or the switch could be bad.

Air bag compressor is not engaging

HI. Your compressor starter module is malfunctioning. this will happens in situations where the compressor either has an issue with one of the internal seals that may have broken off inside of the compressor. this will not allow the compressor to compress air and in return it will run hot due to the friction and trip the protect mode. The second issue may be that the starter module itself is shorted and cannot regulate the needed pressure and compression cycle as well.

In both situations, this will render the compressor useless and it will need to be replaced. any time the compressor ceases to operate, it usually because of the starter module that has failed. this module is located on the actual compressor unit.

Now, if the compressor was running and you had uneven level of the vehicle, this would be a line issue but, in this case, its compressor failure. some owners simply rebuild the compressor but, its best to purchase an entirely new unit..

Please rate and God bless:)

Air Suspension plomlem

1. make sure the switch is on (under the passenger side dash board). 2. check to make sure the relay is good (black little box under the right front bumper. 3. there are two (that I know of) switches/sensors.  1 is behind the left front tire.  The other is up behind the spare tire.  Taking the spare tire off gives you tons of room to work with.  The sensors look like mini shock absorbers with black rubber and can be compressed and pulled easily by hand.  Moving those will simulate the suspension going up and down and should trigger the compressor. 4. if the compressor doesn't come on (and all the above is fine) it sounds like your compressor is bad and should be replaced.  I got one from Arnott Industries in Florida and they have been very nice to work with so far.

It sounds to me like your compressor got killed. What probably happened is that the airbag got a hole or tiny crack in it so the compressor has to work extra hard because it is like blowing up a balloon with a hole in it. Therefor the airbag killed the compressor. I would recommend going to strutmasters.com and taking a look at our conversion kits. these convert you from the airbag to a powder coated American made steel coil spring that is guaranteed to last the life of the car. I added the link below so you can check it out.
