Hi i have a kia serento 2003 3.5 petrol i replaced the battery and now i need a radio code do i have to take the radio out to get the serial number or is there any other way of getting it thanks

You shouldn't have to remove the radio. Contact KIA customer services with the cars VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) usually found at the bottom of the drivers side windscreen. They will be able to give you the radio reset code. Before doing this have you tried the often used default codes such as "0000", "1234", or "9999", these work in a lot of cases. There are also online services (they do charge a fee) that can get your radio code back.

My truck refuses to start, the horn sounds perfectly ok ,radio system stopped working, when ignition is on, all indicators come up but refuses to start

Replace your Starter Relay in the engine compartment, it is about the size of a silver dollar that your battery attaches to and the other stud goes to the starter, the smaller wires come from the ignition to energize the relay which allows the vehicle to start.

My VW Mk1 1.4i 2008 over fueling and does not idle... whats could be wrong?

Hi.
If your fuel pressure is good, timing is good, and compression is good, it is very possible that your ECM, (Engine Control Module) is bad. The computer is not properly modulating the pulse width on the injectors. The pulse width is too wide/long causing the injectors to dump too much fuel. In short, the injectors are staying open too long. Check your connections on your ECM to make sure there are snug. Try removing your battery terminals, unplug the ECM connectors for a few minutes and then plug the ECM back in, reconnect the battery terminals and try it again and see if this helps. If this does not work the ECM is more than likely bad. Hope this helps.

Check glow plugs and valve clearances, both of these will cause bad cold starting, but once hot will start fine

I have a VW Passat 2006 3.6L. I entered a wrong radio code twice after taking out my battery, it blocked me thereafter. Now I have the correct code, but it is showing SAFE. My type of system comes with a...

the satnav/radio has to be ON for 3 hours without any action. I am not sure, if it has to be 3 hours consequently, so 3 hours the engine and satnav on, or it could be for example 6 halfhours, I dont rememmber, but I had this exact problem with 2005 audi allroad. The safe characters will change after 3 hours to rotating numbers and you will be able to enter the code.
DOnt bother to go to the service station, all they can do is also wait or completely reset the unit, which is very pricey, because they have to remove the backpanel..
Be patient, dont touch the satnav let it on, its really a long timespan but it works.

A technician worked on the faulty audio system, and thereafter the gear failed to select.

they might have forgotten to plug the selector lever indicator back in. if they had to remove the radio then in order to that you have to pull the shift wood and the upper control panel wood. make sure the selector lever indicator is plugged in by pulling up on the chrome bezel at the base of the shifter.

I have a 2001 audi a4 that the radio refuses to come on after the alternator died on the car. Is it an engine fuse or is there a way to get this car radio to work without paying for expensive repairs?

If the alternator has not been replaced you radio will not turn on due to power save technology designed to prevent you getting a flat battery if it has then it is possible that you have blown a fuse, check the panel on the drivers side of the dash visible with the door open for a blown radio fuse which will be indicated on the list of fuse locations on the back of the panel take care when removing fuses use tool provided hope this helps
