Did Hilary get more votes from actual ballots?

Yes, she did receive slightly more actual votes at the ballot box. However the distribution of votes was also a major factor. This happens in all democracies.

At what milage(kilometres) does one need to change the timing belt/chain?

It depends on the vehicle, and the climate.
But a timing belt is expected to last for 60,000 miles and a timing chain should last the life of the engine, say 175,000 miles.
Some timing belt engines are interference engines, which means the valves can be damaged if the belt breaks while the engine is running. I recommend replacing the timing belt before 80,000 miles unless the vehicle runs in a hot climate.

What is an interlock button on a 1956 nissian pickup located on right side in dash

It is like a breathalyzer. a safety mechanism design to anayze the alcohol concentration of the driver's breath before he/she can start the car. If the Blood Alcohol Concentration is higher tha 0.4 the engine will be prevented from running and the the driver under the influenced of an alcohol will be prevented from driving. This will save lives.

Most of the mechanism can be re-set so the anyone not undr the alcohol could drive your car.

Is there a known problem causing reduced battery life?

The alternator not charging, the quality of the battery, the brand of battery, electrical draws, high starter draw, extended cranking, and leaving the lights on and totally draining the battery (I realize the obvious in this situation but the battery will also sulfate when this happens so even after recharging the battery life will be reduced) will all influence the life of a battery.

1999 Ford Taurus, There are a couple things not working which may influence both, first the RPM Gauge is not working and either is the Cruise Control. I just replaced the Vehicle Speed Sensor and that...

1. Have you looked at your owners manual for location of the cruise control fuses? 2. Same for the tachometer? 3. Do you live in a wet area with alot of rain? Next chance you have, get some electric cleanout spray from NAPA spray into all cruise control connections and tach connections. 4. Check the recalls from Ford there have been issues with 99 cruise econtrol systems.
