SOURCE: 2001 Rodeo rough idle in drive, and sometimes on the highway

Check the overdrive accumulator cover on the transmission for any leaks. This can cause some rough idle situations and minor slipping but if caught early enough isn't bad to fix.

Spray the intake with carb cleaner to find the vacuum leak. Check where the EGR mounts and the throttle body gasket sense you had both off.

I start my 2001 suzuki grand vitara xl7 2.7 v6 it runs fine for five to ten minutes and when i stop at a red light and the rpms drop down the motor stalls out but if or as long as i keep the rpms up i can...

can be lots of things, ill assume a hot engine at 180F ore more holding.
ill skip bad engines. (100ways)
1: EGR valve sticking open (very hard to reach in back)
2: ;idle speed control stuck. (clean both, and test both)
3;flooding, too much fuel, for many reasons. (takes tools)
4:air fuel mix , is too lean at idle. stalling,
5: dirty MAF, reads too low at idle. clean it with maf cleaner, from 6 to 12 inches away, do not blast it.with cleaner. gently.
6: intake air leaks, from Throttle body to head vavles, aka.
vacuum leaks, This engine is Air Density system.
if you have un-metered (maf) air leaks, it can go lean.

and never getting a tune up? last decade?. new spark plugs , new COP boots.
new air filter.
if super easy to correct with fast right foot , its not EGR main. leaking.
and if tuned up, i test the ISC valves. (IAC)

parts ?
page 42,. part #46 IAC (sticking)

page 2 part id. 'E"

(is check engine light on key? and goes out and stays out, running)
nomatter what scan the PCM for errors.? DTC errors.
i have the full 2 volume FSM on this car.(books)

FSM (factory service manual), one of the best made) SUZ.
FSM page 12b-24 EGR inspection and cleaning.
page 1C1 , how to service IAC

the throttle body has ISC valve on top of throttle , this open on a cold egine
if it fails, hot, the engine races fast . (opposite of your failure)
page 1D6 FSM

recap.
1: a full tuneup
2: clean ISC valve. totally. and put back.
3: clean MAF, (not map) the MAF is hidden in the TB and is no sold by suzuki, (shocker) so clean it with great respect. (using CRC maf cleaner. )
4: air leaks, causing lean at idle. (gaskets ,seals and vacuum hose leaks of any kind to the intake air PLENUM.

2010 Suzuki Alto 1.0

Black crud accumulates around the butterfly in the throttle body and also in the passages of the idle air bypass. The engine is designed to catch a low idle/ higher load condition (like A/C cycling) and adjust the air that is bypassed so it wont stall. This crud buildup restricts the normal amount of air that the computer is programmed to expect. The program in the computer uses other sensors to see what is actually happening like rpm and trys to adjust. This works until the buildup becomes too much for auto adjustment. Then the car dies at idle.

Removing the throttle body and carefully cleaning these will give the engine enough air to idle. Use a new gasket when re-installing.

Remember that electronic pieces on the throttle body (like the TPS) wont like the cleaner so do whats necessary to keep the spray solvent from entering these sensors.

Whenever i put my blazer in gear it dies

I'm assuming it's the 2.8, I'm not sure when they started putting the 4.3 V6 in them.
Anyway, a few things come to mind when something won't idle.1. EGR valves. If they are open at idle, it won't idle. It's open at cruising speeds when the engine is warm, but not at idle or full throttle.
2. Idle air controller (IAC): This is a little electrical valve located on the side of the throttle body. It regulates the amount of air that the engine needs to idle at the correct speed. It makes up for stuff like cold temps, being in gear, or having the A/C on at idle. They also get full of junk and jam up, or simply fail electrically. Replacement is extremely simple.
3. Ignition timing. If the timing is late (********), engine vacuum is lowered and it struggles to idle, even without the load of a transmission in gear.
4. Vacuum leaks. Crunchy old vacuum hoses make everything worse.

Engine vibrates in idle real bad

sound like idle speed low idle you need to remove throttle body clean entire throttle body spray cleaner down throttle body bore if cleaning throttle body dont help the dealership has to check it out.a faulty egr valve could be stuck partially open that will cause rough idle and stalling. replace air filter clean fuel injectors.your fuel system could be too lean caused by clogged fuel injectors or weak fuel pump check fuel pressure and also check all intake vacuum hoses make sure pcv valve working should have suction and make sure its in place and the pcv valve hose not cracked open or damaged.

Where is the EGR valve on a mazda protege 5

I own a 2002 Mazda Protege5 with the FS2.0 Motor. The EGR Valve is located below the throttle-body. You must take off the Intake tube to get a good view of it. To replace it I think you might have to take off the throttle-body, but I'm not sure about that...(yet)

NOTE: Mazda put out a technical note stating that "if your car has sat for a long time, the egr valve could be damaged by moisture (rain) and will need to be replaced". My 2002 Protege sat for 3 weeks and the rain caused this exact issue and had to be replaced. How did I know? The engine light came on (after never coming on) and the car had an extremely rough idle. Total cost was ~$400 (ouch).

2000 Mercury Mountaineer 5.0L engine. idle speed speeds up and slows down. Idles too fast.

dirty or bad idle air control valve i would at worst the egr valve but most likely the idle air control valve which controls the air and idle from the throttle body try taking it out and cleaning the tip as well as in the throttle body where the control valve goes in if that dosent work replace it and the check engine light does not have to be on for it to be bad.good luck to you.

Emission control system Light has come on - it this a serious problem? Car going in for full service and MOT 21/2, will this be covered SUZUKI ALTO

Its likely to be your EGR (exhaust gases recirculation) system blocked or just a valve malfunction.
Since you are going for a full service ,they should sort it out by either cleaning the egr valve or replacing it.
Your car will not pass the MOT with that light on.
I dont know what engine you have in the Alto,so make any further comments.
