I have a 2001 ford f550 7.3 when I turn key the motor wont turn but if I lift hood use a screw driver to starter solenoid it starts wat do I do plz help

You need to replace the starter solenoid. It's best to do the starter and solenoid as a package, saves extra work down the road.

Drango wont start

trick get a flat head screw driver and tap the starter 3 times and if it starts then the starter solenoid went out if it dont start then good your starters fine next step is to have some one turn the car over not start turn it over and listin for the fuel pump to kick on if it dont then the relay is dead if it does then you have fuel after that pull one of the sparks plugs out and inspect it make sure there is no carbon on it beacuse if there is one 1 then there is on all and if your spark plugs look good then your other bet is you air filter is proablly clogged

Sorry my bmw 1991 3181 had a problem with the starter..how can i fix it.....when start to run it didin't work so i had to use a screwdriver to initiate the starter by make it touch the starter then the...

Locate the starter wires coming from your ignition key switch. Short these out and see if the starter turns. If it does, you need a new key switch, or you can connect a press button to those two wires and by-pass the key for starting. I assume you used the screw driver across the big terminal on the starter and the terminal on the solenoid, or else the bendix would not have kicked in. If you shorted the two big terminals on the starter and the bendix did for some reason kick in, you should have a look at the solenoid first before looking at the starter switch.

I have a 2006 Nissan Sentra 1.8 and it is not starting. I checked out my Check Engine light and it said my Cam Shaft positon sensor is bad. So I replaced it but I think I fried my starter trying to kick it...

Sounds more like a dead battery. The one click you hear is the starter solenoid.
Turn on your headlights and try to start if your headlights go real dim your battery is dead.
If they stay bright then it could be your starter

My truck wont start battery is brand new all gueges work when i turn the key but it wont crank?

If you look down where the starter is you will see al little round selinoid with to things sticking out that look like screws and have nuts and wires going to them. Take a good gauge wire and jump across them. If the starter does not kick in or spin over then your starter is bad. If it does kick over then there is a good chance that the ignition switch has gone bad.

Bad solenoid i would guess. Not making a connection there. Any basic wiring and ignition switch problems should be alleviated by jumping the starter with a screwdriver. I would check the solenoid and starter brushes

MY TRUCK WONT TURN OVER I CAN JUMP THE STARTER AND MAKE IT TURNOER BUT THE KEY WONT TURN IT OVER AND ALL MY DASH LIGHTS WORK FIE

Automatic?---then try it in neutral-first turn the key just enough to shift to neutral, turn the key to start and wiggle the shifter,if it kicks in the starter then look at the base of the steering column inside and there may be 2 screws loose that holds a bracket for the shift cable to the column

Truck wont start at the starter switch sometimes. I turn the key and nothing happens. I can go to the sylinoid (bad spelling) and start it with a screw driver

Probably a bad ignition key contact (worn out).
You can hook a pushbutton across the + to key wire terminal... the start it like an old fashened car (turn on the key and push the starter button....when the ignition contact fails to "make".
