Question about 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe

2005 GMC Yukon

We have 2 codes that came on when we read the check engine ight codes. C086B and P1041. Could you please tell us what these codes are?? There seems to be nothing out of the ordinary that I can think of that is wrong. Everything is running smooth til this morning when I warmed my truck up because of the below zero temps. and when i got in it to go to work the service engine soon light was on. My scanner gave me two codes. 1.) P1041 for latched B+ line hi whatever that means and 2.) C086B unsupported code.
I have searched the internet all day trying to figure these out and have been unsuccessful. Any suggestions would be great for the meanings of these.

Hi!

This code means that the heated circuit in the oxygen sensor
on bank 2 decreases time needed to enter closed loop. As the O2 heater reaches operating temperature, the oxygen sensor responds by switching according to oxygen content of the exhaust surrounding it. The ECM tracks how long it takes for the oxygen sensor to begin switching. It the ECM determines (based on coolant temp) that too much time elapsed before the oxygen sensor began operating properly, it will set P0141. A code P0141 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

  • open or short to ground in the wiring harness
  • O2 heater circuit wiring high resistance
  • O2 heater element resistance is high
  • Internal short or open in the heater element
Code C086b means there is Device Voltage Range/Performance issue.

I would strongly recommend contacting a repair shop or the dealer for this one. The P1041 code is not something I have ever ran across (P0141 is a heated oxygen sensor code) and as far as the C086B code (never ran into this one either), if it is showing as an unsupported code, which probably means it is an enhanced DTC or there is somethng in the computer that is not reading properly, would highly recommend the dealer for this one. Hope this helps.

The “C” indicates that it is a chassis code.  C086B  it was "Air Intake Problem" .  open the hood and your  Airaid intake  seperate from the throttle body. re-attach it and the code will be cleared .

Code --P0141--Rear o2 sensor heater failure
o2 sensor located in the rear of the cat converter. If you look under the car from the pass side it threads into the back of the cat converter. The orange/black is grounded by the computer itself. The voltage is controlled by the Code P0135 is the front (primary) sensor #1 and P0141 is the rear (secondary) sensor #2.

Go to your local parts store,(Advance Auto, Napa, Autozone) and get the codes read for free and they can help somewhat of what the code means. If they can't tell you what the code means tell us what the code is and we can help from there.

Check engine light means, that your engine computer pick up a bad signal from one of your engine sensor, the engine will still run good because of back up sensor's,need to have a code reading done to find out what's wrong or it will damage other sensor's, you can go to any auto parts or autozone where they can do a code reading at no charge, get back to us with the code number, so we can help you diag. your trouble code.

PO305 Code on 2002 Yukon XL 5.3L

You probably have water in your fuel . Use some Stabil healthy dose and then some isopropyl alcohol gas line antifreeze that Will probably fix it . and fill it at a popular gas station , not a little station that only sells a little gas. Its either that or you might have a pluged cattalyitic converter. Try this site . http://www.obd-codes.com/forums/search.php?search_id=active_topics

I am not too aufait with these types of vehicles, but I can ssure youo that trouble codes can be found online. Go into Google.com and enter GMC trouble codes. I can't from where I am because the sites are currently blocked from viewing.

Despite that, what are the symptoms the vehicle is giving with these trouble codes?

'04 GMC Yukon Denali Check Engine Light

Did u put in fuel shortly before the light came on? I own 2 service centers & the most common situation with "Check Engine" lights are because the fuel cap wasn't re-installed or not tightened. When you refuel make sure it "clicks" when putting back on. We don't charge for a "Code Reading" but a dealer will, don't go there. Go, like the others suggested. If it is the fuel cap & you re-install it correctly, the light will go off after a short drive. Good Luck. PS-Don't panic when the "Check Engine" light comes on unless it blinks, if that happens don't drive. PSS-RE: Murray's, Auto-Zone.......If it's a "Code" (the reader will give a #) the code book will tell you the problem. PSSS-Some1 please have Troy W's Mommy & Daddy take away his keyboard. Just because you can put together a "Lego" car doesn't make you a master mechanic. You only repeated what we said except you have a "Napoleon" complex against any1 plugging something in to a vehicle. It's the same as plugging in a light @ home. In conjunction with "kinder" nine out of ten time in my experience it usually is the oxygen sensor(s) which would be about right with the year model
