Power mirrors, door locks, windows and int lights not working

The car is a 1997 3.8 Buick Park Ave
the power windows dont function at any door, no light on lockout switch either. next the power mirrors do not work, and more the interior lights do not function when door opened but do work when manually turned on at headlight switch or with remote. and on the door locks do not function electrically, remote no response except horn honk and lights. the locks do not enguage when the car is put in drive either. I did just change the heater control unit and add a factory radio with cd changer, they both work perfectly. I have checked the fuses, breakers and relays all read as good. I have also cleaned the ground in the drivers door jam....no change...and there is power at all the fuses, both sides...under hood and under back seat. Help frustrated Greg (PS factory wiring diagram and troubleshooting stink!!!!! )

Freezer is cold but not fridge. Cover over damper will not open. I unhooked spring to allow cold air in.

Good morning to you and welcome to fixya.
WOW you read the factory wiring diagram for this very impressive, bet your eyes hurt for days after that. A couple of suggestions for you maybe you have already tried. have you replaced the door jamb switch? have you tried open different doors to see if interior lights come on or not? i had same problem in my jeep and showed power to the switch but had a short in the switch itself. GM used a central control unit for the power locks in some of there cars, i know caddy and saab utilize it, im sure that buick did too. it is located under the drivers side dash, you can following wires thru the door into cab and they will plug into the unit. when you checked all the sources for power did you check volts and ohms? volts can read great but the ohms reading maybe really really high causing this issue also. ill do some research here and get back with you tomorrow. good luck and let me know if anything changes.

If you've done all that you say, then the next logical thing would be to check the continuity of the circuit. If you've checked the switch place a propbe at the fuse block and the other probe at the switch to see if there is any power reaching the switch. If there is power to the switch, then check from the switch to one of the window motors. I suspect that one of the wires between the switch and the window motor(s) is probably broken or shorted to ground. ALSO: Does your vehicle have a safety child lock-out switch for the windows? Make sure that it is not in the lock position.
also --------- Check wires between door and door post by wiggling wires. They like to break there from opening and closeing the door.

Before you jump into all of the other stuff, there is another fuse box that you haven't checked yet. on the passenger side under the dash remove the plastic cover (just a few screws). there is a fuse panel up there very close to door side. you will need a flashlight. if those are ok give me a yell back

How do you change the driver name and memory for seat and mirror adjustment on a 1997 buick park avenue ultra

I am not sure about changing the name as my 2000 park ave. only indicates driver one or driver two. To reset the memory for seat/ mirror position is rather simple: with the ignition on and the car in park, adjust your seat and mirrors to the desired position. Then press and hold the desired button (driver one or two) until you hear a beep, This is the procedure that works on my 2000 park ave. I hope this helps you.

My back windows wont go up and the doors wont lock. door ajar light pops on

Will the windows go up and or lock from the respective doors? Is this the master control on the driver that does not respond? If so remove the driver door panel ( see 97 Park Ave door lock for instructions ) and check the wireing harness located under the switch control panel, make sure all are pluged in well and are not damaged. If the wireing harness is in good repair You might want to check salvage yards for the appropiate control switch replacement. ( watch them remove it from the junker and you'll know how to install it )

1997 buick park ave door lock buttom is loose. How do I remove the drivers side door panel?

At the bottom of the door panel you will find several screws ( haven't removed mine in a few mo. and have forgotten how many ) there are also screws under the slotted bottom of the finger grip in the door panel. After removing screws lift the panel from the bottom and to the top of the door. You will encounter clips on the rear of the door panel the most problematic is by door locking mechanism. Use a small blade flat screwdriver to Gently prise the clip out of the metal door. To pass over the interior door handle piviot the door panel, Take Care the wires for window and door lock are located here!
I used Gorilla Glue to reseat my lock button be Cautious not to bind the lock button, or the function will be impaired ( won't work ) HAVE FUN

Windows and locks don't work BUT THE DRIVER'S DOOR in 1999park av

You may have gotten water and/or ice down into the controls in the door. Replacing expensive (several hundred dollars) modules might solve the problem. When the weather wams up it might go away on its own. I avoid opening my windows in the winter now that I know my Park Avenue is susceptible to the problem.
