How do I change the blend door actuator on a 1997 Ford Expedition

This is a big job. You have to drop steering colum, dash, etc. about 6-8 hour job just to get to the heater core where the blend door is located. Go to youtube and look for video on "heater core replacement ". The video is great. they show you all the hidden bolts and screws. The door is on the front side of heater core. It costs about 15-20 bucks at oreillys auto parts. A tough job for a cheap part. Good luck. I did mine in 2 days. First day disassemble and 2nd day assemble. Take your time. The dealer will charge you 800-1200 dollars for the job.

2003 Ford Windstar heater acuator located?

Is the heater not working in the front of the van, but is working in the back? You might mean the 'blend door actuator'. It's not easy to get to. The correct way is to remove the dashboard. Search YouTube for 'Windstar blend door actuator' to get some ideas.

Trying to find blend Door and actuator on ford 1997 f 150 d

there is a ton of info on google for this here is some pictures for a 97 explorer. should be the same as your truck. it is the same as my 2001 F250. my blend door was fine and had another problem. if you remove the glove compartment then remove the black case to the heater core, you can easily see the door to your left. the actuator is on top of all this. as i said, google Blend door repair video and you will have all the info you need.

Cold air comes out when i turn on my heat and i hear a clicking noise. 2004 ford explorer v8

yes, common problem. Blend door actuator is stripping it's gears. Remove actuator and make sure door rotates by hand. If not remove heater box and repair door operation. If it moves OK by hand, replace the actuator. I don't have procedures for replacing yours, but follow the sound, removing whatever panels necessary to get to it. The part looks like the below pic and sits flat on the heater box with a cable coming out of it. Cost is about $35. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Under the middle of the dash is a part called a blend door actuator it is located between the floor board and the heater housing. It control the door that opens and closes allowing heat to exchange. These go out all the time.
