Mysterious transmission leak of 99 dodge avenger

We recently got a 99 dodge avenger and the person we got it from drove it daily back and forth from two towns. We gave it oil change and transmission fluid change. Now after have taken it on a road trip, on the way back we noticed that the transmission fluid is leaking. The entire drivers side undercarrage is covered in it and when you pour it in it comes out in a steady stream. The funny thing is when it is parked in the driveway or elsewhere there is no fluid under it to be found. what could be the cause and from where could the leak be coming from???

Check the cooler lines, they will only leak when it is running.

Where is the trans fill plug on a 1996 dodge avenger

I helped a mechanic, once,to change a transmission mount(?) and in the process he pointed at a plug on the side of the transmission and he said it was where you fill up with fluid (oil or transmission fluid, depends what it uses) you start filling and as you do, you check level by sticking your finger in the hole and stop filling when you feel the tip of your finger get wet.... Good luck and wash your finger afterwards!!!!!

No Bus 08 dodge, radio, start..disconnect its running again

Just bought a 2013 dodge avenger, literally yesterday. Test drove fine twice,, drove all over town for license and registration, multiple erands. No problems. I got to work and went to leave for lunch and was introduced to the no bus code. Left me stranded the very day i purchased it,, only 25000 miles. Is this problem simple enough to weather or is this the brightest red flag to take it back?

I have a 99 Avenger and was told that I have a transmission leak after getting my oil changed. I have not noticed any leaking on my driveway (although I have a gravel driveway), I am not sure what to do...

Hi, I recommend you check your fluid level periodically to see how much it's leaking. If it isn't leaking much and since you have a gravel driveway anyway, I wouldn't bother fixing it. It is usually expensive to do so--much more than the cost of a few bottles of fluid per year. The transmission dipstick is near the back of the engine, near the firewall. You leave the engine running with the transmission in park to check it. Use a funnel in the dipstick tube to add fluid. If the transmission runs low on fluid, it will not go into gear. That will be a reminder to add fluid. You should keep a couple quarts in the trunk along with a funnel in case it runs low awat from home. Ask the parts store person what is the right fluid for your transmission, as there are several kinds. Sound OK?

95 avenger transmission leaking

is it the same seal? it sounds like something was not installed good, or a burr on the axle, i would get a second look at another garage to see exactly whats going on, then take it back to the shop that rebuilt it, if it the same seal it could be a defective axle, good luck hope this helps.

98 dodge avenger transmission problem

codes will verify if it needs to be pulled out. More than likely it will as the electronics are rarely the problem. The computer senses a indifference in the ratio between the sensors so it locks it in limp mode - 2nd gear.
