SOURCE: dodge avenger 2008

It depends on who you go to and if you want it done right. I went to the Dealership and had them put front brakes on my 2008 Dodge Avenger and it has been in the shop every 2-4 months since then for front brakes. They replaced the entire front brake system and my 08 Avenger is still eating brakes. I finally took it to a friend who owns a auto repair shop he replace the rotors which are total about 115.00 for each from AutoZone and replaced the brake pads for 50.00 so it cost me just parts 155.00 and my Avenger is running smoothly since haven't had problems with the brakes since. Go to Midas and let them change it for roughly 89.00 avoid the dealership at all cost they can run 200.00-500.00 depending on if it is just the brakes pads or if it is the rotors and pads.

I don't have a manual for your model, but did find a YouTube video for a 2008 Dodge Avenger showing the location of a couple of actuators on the HVAC box. It may not be exactly the same for your car, but it should give you an idea of what you're looking for.
There are a few more videos for Dodges, but mostly for Rams (pickups).

How do I find the crankshaft position sensor on the 2012 Dodge Avenger 2.4 liter 4 cylinder

Register for free at Autozone.com, and list this Avenger as your car. Then you can look under "repair guides" and find ":component locations" for the sensor. They probably also have removal procedures for helping you locate and remove it.
