SOURCE: I have a 2002 caravan 3.3L engine light came on

the most propable cause is you have a vacume leak. Check all intake hoses for leaks and spray brake cleaner around intake gaskets if rpms change then you found a leak also clean your mass airflow sensor

SOURCE: 1996 dodge 2500 v10 8.0 no spark and no fuel pump. Ran fine 3 days ago

Check the fuel pump fuse and relay, if it's OK, you have a bad fuel pump. About the no spark, could be many things
Ignition coil, distributor (if so equipment) , main shaft position sensor, computer problem
Good Luck

I have a 91 chevy lumina it idles but as soon as you hit the gas it stalls

Have your fuel pressure checked. Also scan for trouble codes in the engine computer-use an OBD-1 code reader (on board diagnostics). The MAP sensor should be checked for proper operation. Run some injector cleaner through the engine for possible clogged injectors. Check your fuel filter and air filter.

Car keeps shutting off while driving. We have changed fuel filter twice worked good for a couple of days and then started again. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Fuel filter is the best place to start but sometimes the fuel pump can cut out intermittently as well and it is also possible that your injectors are gummed up. Perhaps a higher grade of fuel might make a difference or fuel injector cleaner once a month when you fill your tank might help if it is an injector issue.
I am not certain how to tell if the fuel pump is intermittently cutting out other than eliminating other reasonable possibilities. I had that happen to me and like you I changed the fuel filter and ran injector cleaner through my tank and still had the problem. I dropped the tank and replaced the pump and it ran great afterward.

06 Hyundai Azera error code p0300, car ran rough at first then ok , check engine came on, Dealer put fuel injector cleaner in it. had problem a year ago and dealer said problem was accellerator pedal...

P0300 is a random misfire detected, and it would cause me to do a good tuneup-clean the throttle body, air filter, fuel filter, plugs, plug wires (if it has them), oil change (just because)-fuel injector cleaner is voodoo and the dealer proved that he did not know what was wrong when he did that in my opinion-while there is nothing wrong with throwing in a bottle of injector cleaner once in a while, it is NOT going to fix a misfire problem-that is probably an ignition issue that may be confounded by a bad fuel filter/air filter or leaking injector o-ring.

What do the engine codes 12, 51, and 17 mean on a 1995 Jeep Cherokee 4 cylinder , 2 whd, 5 speed. It has a rough idle, really low fuel mileage, and not much power. Just recently started this problem.... I...

Code 12; Means the PCM sensed the battery was disconnected and after 50 key cycles, this code will disappear. Code 17; Means the engine is cold too long after start up. Engine coolant temp remains below normal operating range during vehicle travel. The thermostat is stuck open; replace the thermostat. Code 51; The O2 sensor stays below center voltage outout. And indicates a rich fuel condition. This is caused by the stuck open thermostat.

Check engine light on, code is p2004, manifold runner or vac line leak. car runs fine can't pass emmission testing, where should we start to look first?

P2004 is intake manifold runner stuck open control bank 1. This code should be related to your EVAP system. Did you try resetting the ECM and then the light came back on? If so, did you look at the readiness status? After driving the car awhile different systems should have come out of default and one should have been listed "not complete". Which one was it?
Start by looking for pinched or broken vacuum lines, oil dip-stick not in place or oil fill-cap missing, maybe a missing or defective gas-cap. Anything further would take the use of special tools and a look at live data, to hopefully narrow this down. Good luck.

Ford trouble codes on a e 250 with a 5.4 eng codes 175 and 205 what is the most likly cause

P0205 Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinder 5
P0175 System too Rich (Bank 2)
A code P0175 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
  • The MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor is dirty or faulty. Note: The use of "oiled" air filters can cause the MAF to become dirty if the filter is over-oiled
  • There could be a vacuum leak.
  • There could be a fuel pressure or delivery problem
Possible Solutions Possible solutions include:
  • Inspect all vacuum and PCV hoses, replace if necessary
  • Clean the MAF sensor. Consult your service manual for it's location if you need help. I find it's best to take it off and spray it with electronics cleaner or brake cleaner. Make sure you are careful not to damage the MAF sensor, and make sure it's dry before reinstalling
  • Inspect fuel lines for cracks, leaks, or pinches
  • Check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail
  • Check the fuel injectors, they may be dirty. Use fuel injector cleaner or get them professionally cleaned/replaced.
  • Check for an exhaust leak before the first oxygen sensor (this is unlikely to cause the problem, but it is possible)
The causes of a P0205 engine light

code could be any of the following:
  • Bad injector. This is usually the cause of this code but doesn't rule out the possibility of one of the other causes
  • Open in the wiring to the injector
  • Short in the wiring to the injector
  • Bad PCM
Possible Solutions
  1. First, using a DVOM check the resistance of the injector. If it isn't within specs, then replace the injector.
  2. Check for voltage at the fuel injector connector. It should have 10 volts or more.
  3. Visually check the connector for damage or broken wires.
  4. Visually check the injector for damage.
  5. If you have access to an injector tester, activate the injector and see if it operates. If the injector operates, then you likely have either an open in the wiring, or a blocked injector. If you do not have access to a tester, swap the injector with another one and see if the code changes. If the code changes, then change the injector.
  6. At the PCM, remove the driver wire from the PCM connector and Ground the wire. (Make sure you have the correct wire. If you're not sure, do not attempt) The injector should activate
  7. Replace the injector

2001 xterra (update) engine service soon is on

Hello, A lack of power can come from a multitude of problems and I will give you guidance and how to solve your problem. I would first change your oil and fuel filters and run some injector cleaner through your system to see if this helps your underpowerment. Next, I would do a tune up and replace your spark plugs and wires, oil and oil filter, rotary cap and button. You may have some faulty coil packs and possibly a fuel pump which is about to go out as well. I would try a mid grade or a higher grade of gasoline for your vehicle with the fuel injector cleaner, fuel filter, and air filter. If this does not solve the sputtering, Autozone offers free diagnostic of your electrical system and they will run a code check on your vehicle for free! I would be safe and guess this is just a clogged fuel filter or some corroded wires on your coil or your spark plugs so give your engine a good once over and this tune up. Yes, this can be a knock sensor as well to answer your problem and by knowing that I know you have enough mechanical knowledge to fix whatever is ailing your vehicle! The knock sensor senses when fuel is burning unevenly and causing "knocking" or irregular vibrations in the engine. I hope this helps you fix your problem!

Slight miss on a 2000 passat 1.8t

You answered your own question... the cause is the low octane fuel... the fix is the higher grade stuff... Also check into having injectors cleaned (or try a bottle of STP injector cleaner)

The cylinders are numbered as on the spark pack you changed. You might have done better putting the seafoam in the tank as an injector cleaner. Not sure why you changed so many parts, you seem to know how to get the codes from test connector lead hookup and the blink pattern. You might also want to check the fuel rail pressure and the crank and cam angle sensors. Before replacing the injector, swap the #4 injector with the adjacent one and see it the code moves with the injector or stays put. If the code stays on #4, then check the injector wiring, if it moves clean or replace the injector.
