SOURCE: starts and stalls

I had a similar problem on my 1999 Grand Prix, 3.8l engine. I replaced the IAC Motor (Idle Air Control) that attaches into the throttle body. After disconnecting the battery, the computer goes into a learning process. It stalled once, but now seems to be running correctly. The codes set were Engine Misfire, which could be anything. I also bought a crank sensor, which is suspect, but I didn't install it.

SOURCE: Engine dies when warm, tough warm start

If you follow the throttle linkage from around the intake you will see a little black box. Inside the box is a throttle adjustment. Ours actually slipped out of adjustment and there is where you can adjust it back...very simple to do..Give that a shot.

How do i change the heated oxygen sensor bank 1 for a 3.8L 2002 pontiac grand prix? Do i need to drive the car first to warm the engine up first?

I'd instead go and get your favourite penetrating lubricant (My personal favourite is ordering some AeroKroil from Kano Labs), spray it generously on, let it soak in, and then start to try and grab it out.

I have a 2002 grand prix se and the heat is not working, after a long time it will get slightly warm but thats it really.

Make sure the coolant in the radiator is full. If it is low the heater performance can be poor. If that is not the problem then I would suspect that your engine thermostat needs to be replaced.

2002 Grand Prix: I just had my oil changed in my Pontiac 2008 Grand...

To reset "CHANGE OIL" light, turn the ignition switch to the run position without starting the engine. Fully depress and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. and wait for the light to flash. Check your manual it maybe slightly different. Real easy fix.

2002 grand prix, will not blow hot air, engine heats up fine and cooling system checks ok.

With the engine warmed up feel the heater lines going into the firewall. You will probably find that one is very hot and the other only look warm or even cold. If this is the case the heater core needs to be flushed. With the engine cold remove the hoses at a convenient location and back flush the heater core. Reconnect the lines and warm the engine back up with the heat on.

When the temp is cold 40 or below my grand prix won't stay running, its like the carborator is over loading. I can be driving and have to let of the accelarator and it will just die. If I try to warm it...

I'd concentrate my time & money,( $15.00 ) on ECT, "engine coolant temperature sensor" If your V6, is a 3.8, and not a 3.1 then it should be located (threaded in ) right below your throttle body at intake/block area. My guess is the sensor is telling the ECM that engine is already warm, thus only delivering enough fuel for a warmed up engine. Once engine is warm, all's well.

2002 grand prix runs rough, dies service engine

sounds like you have a vacuum leak, check all the vacuum hoses and replace any broken or kinked ones, also check around the intake manifold gasket for leaks. any air leaks after the air flow meter creates 'un-metered' air which inturn will make the car run rough and stall, hope this helps
