Question about 1998 Mercury Sable
1998 mercury sable, VIN 1MEFM53S9WG612687. With engine running Accessory Belt and pully system does not turn. With engine off Belt and Pullies can be easly turned. Cannot find helpful info in Haynes or Chilton Manuals. Can't figure out why the Belt and Pullies are not/do not engage and turn when engine is running. Shouldn't the belt pully attached to the Crankshaft turn the belt when the engine is running?
Yes, the harmonic balancer is broken. It is what the crank pulley is bolted to.
