Question about 2003 Volkswagen Eurovan

1 Answer

Locks won't stay locked

I am doing some work on a 2003 volkswagon eurovan. there were some problems with the locks and latches. I installed new sliding door latch, new passanger side extieror door latch (the part the actuates the latch). All the doors open and close smoothly, however when I attempt to lock the vehicle it locks all the locks and then unlocks them all right away. I can stick the key in all three door locks and the same thing happens on each of them.

The rear hatch on my 04 4runner LTD won't latch. Motor cycles closed, then opens.

If the motor requires too much voltage to finish the cycle, it could trigger the computer to think there is a blockage.

Door won't close

Check to see if anything is restricting it from closing inside of the crevice where the wheel travels and locks. Sometimes debris from trees, dirt or rocks can clog it up.

Hood latch does not engage cable on 2002 eurovan

Try locking the latch with your hands then unlock by pulling handle and see if it will latch. Sometimes those latches are not in the position they need to be in and that will work.

Our 2003 Eurovan sliding door is not shutting. It doesn't seem to be the latch, anything else that could be going on?

I had the same issue, It happens occasionally, twice a year. I put some silicone lubricant on the locking mechanism on the door and that solved the problem.

My 1987 Dodge Ramcharger, 318 Auto, 2wd has a rear door issue. It won't shut and latch properly the owner before me installed additional locks on either side to secure the door but they are ugly. Any way...

take a look at the latches, make sure they are grease good and all working, sometimes one of the latches freezes up, so the door is not completely latched, also you can adjust the striker to lock tighter, this is located on the body, at the top and bottom of the left side door, take a look and see if all latches are latching, use a screw driver to push them locked and see if latec will stay latched in the lock postion. good luck.

Latch on '96 Maxima will not lock and stay locked

Yes if your lock actuator is not stuck on unlock.Try unpluging the harness to rhe electric lock, and see if it will lock and stay locked using the key.If ti works then your okay.if you still have the problem then your tounge that holds the trunk down needs to be replaced.

Central locking

you would have to take apart the door panel and check were the lock rod is their is a rubber copling which needs to be lubricated
with silicone grease, check the operation before you install door panel if is working ok,you dont have any other problem, but if it does'nt work you would need to replace complete latch.
