A gasket set is just what it implies, a set of gaskets necessary to replace a component. Gasket maker is usually silicone that can be used to form gaskets when paper gaskets are not used or not available.

On 2002 chevy malibu do u have to let it set for 24 hours after changing water pump

If you used a gasket sealer on the water pump gasket, or a silicone based gasket maker, and the gasket sealer directions say to let it set for 24 hours to fully cure, or to reach full strength, then yes, let it sit for 24 hours so the sealer can do it's job.
Otherwise, it will probably leak and have to be re-done.

WOULD LIKE THE PART NUMBER FOR REBUILD KIT TO A 1999 F150 4.6L ENGINE. COMPLETE SET AND GASKET SET ONLY PLEASE.

the 'kit' that you are looking for varies from parts distributors. if you are going to the dealership for this then you will be getting a very long list of numbers that you really don't need any how. If you are replacing the gaskets for this vehicle then you want to go to the local parts store and ask for the "upper gasket kit" for (insert vehicle here) and then you will get what you are looking for. if you are looking to rebuild the bottom end, the block, then you want to get the "lower gasket kit" but a good upper gasket kit (ie. Felpro, Victor Reins, etc...) then you should get a head gasket, valve cover gasket, and intake and exhaust gaskets. the lower gasket kit can include but not always (you should ask what gaskets come in it) oil pan, freeze plugs, and front and rear main seals.

What gaskets do I need besides my head gasket when replacing the head gasket on a 2004 Ford Taurus, in otherwords what would replace while doing this job car has 168000 kms

Head bolts and head gaskets. Let's see, you will need a lower and upper intake set as well. These head gaskets usually blew because bad fan relays caused the gaskets to blow and warped the heads. Ford used cheap oil pressure switches that leaked as well.

I have a vw 2.0 sdi caddy 06 and have had the head gasket changed but now i have a lot of smoke when revving and very lumpy on idle. can anyone help me find the settings and sequence to set all my...

I suspect something is wrong with the head gasket proceedure. A head gasket failure is not the gasket itself, but something else is wrong, manifesting as a gasket. and yes, the gasket can be torn, but the gasket is a victim, not the cause. Usually there is head warpage but sometimes cracks. the lots of smoke sounds like coolant. Pressure test the cooling system...This is not likely an injector issue.

Can i just replace the head gaskets or do i need to replace alll gaskets

when u replace the head gaskets u must also replace any parts gasket that u remove (valve covers, intake manifold etc.) to get the heads off, they sell what is called a "Valve Grind" gasket set that is what u need, it will have all the gaskets in it u need..

I have oil inside one of my spark plug departments

U need to replace the valve cover gasket and the spark plug well seals which come with the new valve cover gasket set, use a FELPRO brand gasket set much cheaper than a factory set and equal or better quality.

78 trans am water pump issue

I use a film of sealant on both sides of the gasket. I place the gasket on the water pump and then install the water pump to the front of the engine. Don't forget to clean the old gasket off of the engine.
