Usually a sign of a weak pump, plugged filter, or small hole in tank sender/pickup tube at about that level.

Ii have a1985 Nisson 4x4, Ive replaced the carb, with a new webber carb. The truck ideals ok but when u give it gas it acts like its starved of fuel, what could it be?

things to check will be float level, main jet size for the engine capacity, power circuit operational, accelerator pump working, ignition timing
by installing a different carby , make sure that all the holes in the carby base are not blocked off by a gasket that has no holes

pull the carby ( if it has one ) and have it professionally cleaned out as it indicates a blocked main jet circuit
have the pump pressure checked to check for blocked fuel lines from the tank
if is electronic controlled with fuel injection the n have the fault codes read
I hope that you remember to open the vent on top of the gas tank as it may be starving for fuel

1969 Camaro Small Block fuel pump. What is the pressure for a stock fuel pump?

most mechanical pumps will run at 8 psi. Pressure is dependant on volume flow so if the carby is starving for fuel , check for filter blockage ( also at needle and seat entrance), pump stroke ( thickness of blocks under mount on engine)

Have DR650 motorcycle, seems to be fuel starved at higher revs, cutting out, replaced filter, and drained carby no better, any suggestions?

Check the Tank vent, If it's starving or cutting out it may be creating a vacuum on the tank. Open the tank a bit and see if it still starves at higher RPM. If it runs fine, Located the vent tube and lean it out or clean the vent on the gas cap either way. If it's still starving for fuel, then look at the petcock. If it's one of the vacuum diaphragm auto types, the diaphragm is probably bad and will need to be replaced. Dump it and get a manual valve.

You have a vapour lock problem in the fuel system caused from the fuel boiling off either in the carby or fuel manifold system. If you have a carby then make sure that you have the insulator block between the manifold and the carby base to stop heat transference from the manifold to the carby.. Check that any fuel lines are insulated from any heat source (manifolds etc)

How do you deal with an airlock in a mitsubishi galant gdi

Try pouring a little fuel onto the carby then start the engine. You may have to do this several times until the fuel enters the carby float bowl.

I install a fuel pump but can't get any fuel to the throttle body. the fuel pump runs but it won't go through the throttle body?

hi.. so is it a carby or direct inj or throtle body inj ? if its a carby then you may need to clean out the jets, if not then the fuel does not neciserily go through the throttle body, just make sure your fuel lines are on the correct way, they are easy to confuse and usualy the most common mistake... if it is a mechanical fuel pump to a carby try starting useing 'easy start' aerosol can and it might help **** the fuel through... also if the carby is empty it will be hard to get fuel in so you can help by tipping some fuel into the carby pots..

Sounds like the fuel pump failing, although it could be a lose relay on the fuse box normaly its a small black one, bosch small square box check the fuse box and relays make sure they are all down tight.

a relay is small electro magnet inside sometimes they stick or lose contact and cause intermitent faluts. worth a look wont cost you anything.
