Turn the ignition key to 'ON' and press the odometer button until the display reads ODO (not Trip A or B).
Turn the ignition key to OFF.
Hold in the same button you used in step 1.
While holding the button in, turn the ignition key to ON.
The ODOMETER will change to:
5 dashes - - - - -

My 05 Focus speedometer is wacky. All other gauges and systems work fine. The speedometer needle doesn't go to zero when vehicle stops moving.

Sounds like the speedometer is faulty. If the speed sensor were the problem, the odometer would not work correctly, the transmission would not shift correctly, and the check engine light would be on.

This would be just a guess but this happen to me a few years back. your wiring harness that goes to the computer of the care may be getting pinched. The wiring harness goes to the computer of the car. mine was being pinches because I had a broken motor mount. Save yourself A Lot of headaches and have it service by a car dealership.

Undo your battery for a couple of minutes worked on the older models. I believe this is the procedure for yours.
Turn ignition key to 'ON' and press the odometer button until the display reads ODO... not Trip A or B.
Turn ignition key to OFF.
Hold in the same button you used in step 1.
While holding the button in, turn ignition key to 'ON'.
ODOMETER will change to
5 dashes - - - - -

Whats wrong with audi a4 quattro when light on dash saying 1mph

Read your owners manual on how to set or clear your speed warning. There is nothing wrong with your car.
IIRC, the speed warning is zeroed by holding down the left instrument cluster button for more than one second when the vehicle is moving faster than 3mph. The icon will show with a diagonal bar through it indicating the speed warning is turned off.

How to repair steering angle sensor

Zero Point Calibration Using Jumper wire
The following manual procedure may be used in the cases where a Diagnostic Tester is not available.
CAUTION:
While performing the Zero Point Calibration, do NOT tilt, move, or shake the vehicle. The vehicle must remain in a stationary condition throughout the entire process. Be sure to perform the procedure on a level surface with an inclination of less than 1%.
1. If the vehicle is equipped with A/T, ensure that the shift lever is in the "P" range and the parking brake is applied. If the vehicle is equipped with a M/T, ensure that the parking brake is applied.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
3. Using the SST, repeat a cycle of short and open between terminals Ts and CG of DLC3 4 times or more within 8 seconds (refer to the specific vehicle EWD for TS and CG pin location in the DLC3).
4. Verify that the VSC indicator light is lit indicating the recorded zero point is erased.
5. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
6. Be sure the terminals Ts and CG of DLC3 are disconnected.
7. Turn the ignition switch ON.
8. Check that the VSC warning light goes off about 15 seconds after the ignition switch is turned ON.
9. After ensuring that the VSC warning light remains OFF for 2 seconds, turn the ignition switch OFF.
10. Connect terminals Ts and CG of DLC3 using the SST.
11. Turn the ignition switch ON.
12. After turning the ignition switch ON, check that the VSC warning light is lit for about
4 seconds and then starts quick blinking at 0.13 second intervals.
13. After ensuring the blinking of the VSC warning light for 2 seconds, turn the ignition switch OFF.
14. Remove the SST from terminals Ts and CG of DLC3.
15. Drive the vehicle for at least 5 minutes to confirm Zero Point Calibration is complete

As for the first problem it could be a speed sensor in the transmission. Do you have a check engine light on? You need to drive it with a scanner on it to check the speed sensor. If the sensor is reading fine but the speedo doesn't read right you likely need to replace the cluster. As for the second problem, this is a common one on the 4t65E trans. You need to replace the Transmission Pressure Control Solenoid.
