NEED PIC OF CAM LOBES OF WHERE THER SITTING AT IN ENGINE ON TOP DEAD CENTER.THE CAM SPROCKET ARE NO HELP THEY DONT HAVE KEY WAYS TO LINE UP SO THERE ERELVANT TO SETTING THIS PART BUT GREAT FOR THE SIT UP...

find no1 piston and remove the spark plug. loosen of the cam shaft bearings to prevent valve damage when turning engine . Turn the engine over by hand until the no1 piston is coming up on exhaust stroke ( find this by placing your finger over no1 plug hole and turning the engine over until you feel pressure under the finger. Watch for the timing mark on the crank pulley /Sprocket. Once you have established that the piston is at TDC rotate the crank 360 degrees as this will now be the exhaust stroke . Watch carefully the exhaust rocker and the inlet rockers for no1 piston as it is coming up to TDC. you will see that the exhaust rocker will be coming up and at a point the inlet will start to go down IT is at this point when a bit of crank movement either way rocks the ex and inlet together ( valve overlap) with the crank on TDC that the cam shaft will be timed to the crankshaft

99 chevy vorte marks wont line up

if you lined up marks on cam and crank gears when you installed timing chain and you used the original timing cover and timing mark tab and did not turn engine before checking the marks the balancer is spun and needs to be replkaced if the engine has been turned it may be 180 degrees out of time you will need to turn engine at least two full revolutions and recheck maybe upto 4 times if it still does not line up with all original parts no chrome timing covers or timing tabs the balancer is bad and needs replaced

Timing marks mitsubushi l200 warrior

  • No 1 piston at TDC on the firing stroke.
  • crankshaft pulley notch in line with TDC mark on timing covet
  • cam shaft pully notch in line with mark on head
If it has dizzy then No1 at tdc will have rotoe pointing on number 1 lead.
if has Igniters then line notches on cam to notches on head

On My 2005 Hyundai elantra 2.0 if I plug my cam sensor in it will turn over but won't start. If I unplug cam sensor it will start but car has a slow start on take off need help?

remove cam sensor clean it put it back in try the car if it still not right replace the sensor you may need to replace crank sensor as well when did it last have a timing belt replaced ?if its got over100 ,000 km on it and hasnt been done i would have it done if the belt brakes it can be fatal for the engine if its old then it may have jumped a tooth wich will put the cam timing out i would look there first turn the engine over by hand till the timing mark on the crank pulley is showing tdc remove the top half of the timing belt cover remove no1 spark plug use a suitable probe to check that no1 piston is at the top if so check the marks on the cam gears are in line with there marks if all marks line up the valve timing is ok

I replace the oil pump gasket. need to redo timing of the engine cause it wont start, it has a distributor. which timing mark ( has about 6 marks)on the crankshaft pulley and does it align with the pointer...

didnt i answer this one ,but you never stated a distributor ,easy take no1 plug out ,bring up to to TDC no1 and rotor points at no1 plug point on the distributor cap.if it doesnt start then you could be 180? out which is why its better to remove rocker cover but not necessary
