As with most engines, it is located inside of the oil pan. It would not be a job for a beginner to even attempt to change their own oil pump.

SOURCE: need to replace water pump in a 1989 buick regal

the water pump is going to be one of the pulleys on the serpintine belt. its going to be the only one that uses the back of the belt(side with no groves) to spin it. take the belt off and undo the three screws on the pulley and pull it out. then put the new pump back in. make sure belt is one right. make sure cooling system is still full. and you should be good to go.

More than likely (and we will hope) it is the oil sending unit. In comparison it is a very cheap and quick fix to replacing the oil pump. Auto Zone has a pretty good componet location section that has tips for replacement if you cant find the sending unit or the oil pump. Try that first it may save you a lot of work.

SOURCE: 1993 buick lesabre my oil pump stopped pumping oil

Oil pumps on these do not go bad. The oil pressure sensor could be bad giving you a false reading. If not the only other thing could be is a clogged up oil pickup screen inside the oil pan. also get a delco pf47 filter

SOURCE: Where is the fuel pump located on a 1989 buick

Hello BB.

The fuel pump is located in the fuel tank.
There is a hangar assembly fastened to the tank top that holds the pump and strainer and the fuel level sender.
In order to change the fuel pump the fuel tank needs to be removed to allow the hangar to be removed.

That should answer your question as asked. If you would like further help with this question, please ask in a comment here.

Power steering is leaking fluid can you tell me some of the locations that it can leak from

two most likely places it could leak oil from is the steering rack or the power steering pump,,,check the steering rack by turning the steering hard over and looking at the rubber boots on each end to see if any oil is leaking from them (its red in colour) also look at the pump you should see if thats leaking oil as it will splater every were,,,there is a slim chance its a pipe,,,,

How do you know which relay is the fuel pump relay? On a 1989 Buick Century

relay that is located in the power control center under the hood. The relay should be marked and can be replaced simply by pulling the old relay out and replacing it with a new one. If the relay is bad the pump should turn on when you try to start the car and it should run.

1989 Buick park Ave....I have replaced the fuel pump, which didn't make a noise when it stalled, so i assumed it was the pump,...i checked the old one and it works,...so i have the new pump...

Have you checked for voltage at all those locations you changed parts or checked?Have you checked for voltage back at the pump?Have you checked the ground for the fuel pump? Also, other than the priming cycle, fuel pump voltage runs through the oil pressure switch when the engine has oil pressure.
You could keep cranking the engine until you have oil pressure and the pump may just start on that circuit,
