Question about 1999 Audi A4
This car was practically given to with a whole bunch of problems and im trying to restore it to perfect working conditions so allow me to breakdown what has gotten me to this problem this car's center support bearing broke and the rear drive shaft was spinning out of place banging up the whole car even broke the muffler out of the catalytic converter anyways i bought a used rear drive shaft in working conditions and installed it leaving me with that problem fixed but now my transmission is stuck in a high gear with all the gears in the dashboard highlighted making the car start off slow on acceleration with no power but once it picks up it drives fine. i have done some research online some call it LIMP, Safe, Fail Safe Modes. i ran a computer on it and these are the codes i got from it dtc codes: 18010 17956 18032 00293 00266 00258 00260 00262 00283 00290 00287 most codes seem to be sporadic and shorts now i have no clue what to do and i NEED SOME HELP PLEASE!!!
First try turning key on but dont start engine...... depress accelerator pedal to the floor slowly 3x . May put it back in learning mode, if not then check the multifunction switch on tranny or speed sensor to see if it got damaged

It's the wheel bearing. Guaranteed. Just replaced mine. Go to Audiworld tech articles for step by step instructions on how to test the wheel bearings. They must have been put in wrong last time or they just went out again.

All the positions will light up when you have codes in the Transmission control module. You need to have the vehicle scanned for codes.
