I think he means try changing hazard flasher, with signal flasher. Do the signals come on, but don't blink, or don't come on at all, outside the vehicle?

Try checking the Relay in the fuse box under the hood, and there is also one up under the dash, if you dont hear the relay click with you put power to it then pop it out then try a new one. a lot of times it could be the relay but you still get power to the fuse. cause the relay clicks closed and locks that way. if not that check for power at the blinker, take the bulb out turn the blinker on and see if there is a voltage change there if not then it could be a bad ground or line under the hood.

that vehicle has a desperate relay for the hazards which is why they work, you have a defective signal flasher sometimes called a signal relay, follow the noise to locate exactly where the part is, usually under driver side of dash, it is a very cheap part and easy to install.

How do I change a flasher in a 2000 dodge durango? Thank you.

the flasher should be up under the dash on the driver side, you should turn on the flasher that works if there is one and you will hear the click of it, once you hear it pull the one next to it that is not clicking, if that is the one to change, and replace it there. it should be in the area of your parking brake release.
also if it is that a blinker is not working or a flasher, check the fuse in the fuse panel, or also check the relay under the hood on the driverside in the relay box.

My 2000 dodge durango turn signal lights stop working just recently. sometimes they would work and other times not, but now it just stoped.

A Mechanic told me my switch was broken, but the switch was working fine, the lights just stopped flashing. After some research and consulting with a male friend who knows more about this than I, we discovered it was only the turn signal flasher -- a $16.00 part. On the 2000 model, it's located under the dash, on a separate fuse panel I didn't even know was there. It's to the left of the steering column and right behind the main fuse box, but you can only get to it by going up under the dash. The green one is a little hard to get to, but that's the one for the hazard lights. Its easy to see with a good shop light. It's 1" by 1" ish. The turn signal flasher is below the green one. It's black and a little smaller, and much easier to get to. You simply unplug it and plug the new one in. Voila! There are other fuses on this panel -- I'm not sure what they go to, but I intend to find out so I don't waste money replacing parts I don't need to.
