If you could disable an immobilizer system easily, it wouldn't be called an anti-theft system. The systems in late model cars cannot be disabled.

Vw golf mk5 immobilizer problem in the dash immobiliser active

the immobilizer will only disable its self if the right key is used to try and start the car (EG: only the registered car key is able to turn on the car and run it otherwise the immobilizer triggers after a few or more failed tries to start the car)

Ecm control switch

No switch just EFI relay to supply power to ECM. If your ECM seems like it's not activating other system like fuel pump relay, ignition coil,etc.etc. check that your immobilizer has been disabled. Some immobilizers will disable the ECU totally. Newer models have RFID type keys that needs programming if damaged. Best to scan your car and get the error codes before replacing anything.

HELP! I have a Daewoo Lanos(1998-99), ive got a

The fault code 53 is an ECM IMMOBILIZED ERROR.
The immobilizer anti-theft system thinks the key is invalid. If it detects an error, it will;
Disable the fuel injector circuit--- Disable the fuel pump circuit---Disable the ignition coil.

Code 53 will set when:
1- The Eectronic Control Module (ECM) does not receive the signal from the Immobilizer Control Unit (ICU) within 0.9 seconds when vehicle is stationary, or 1.8 seconds when vehicle is moving.
2- The ICU sends the ECM an incorrect release message more than 5 times.
3- The above conditions continue until the ignition is switched off.

I hope this helps.

Ya my car igniton broke but the ignition its self has a black what looks like a computer chip in the side of it and a wire running fro mthe ignition to the battery or sumthing i dont know i was just...

hi what this is , is the pick up for the immobilizer system, what happens is when you insert your key into the ignition it disables the immobilizer and allows you to start your vehicle, it does this by, reading the chip that is in your key, when you put the key into the ignition it then matches the code from the key chip to the ignition chip which in-turn disables the immobilizer...what you are seeing is normally hid behind the steering-wheel cowling....hope this helps

My 97 Tahoe wont start unless I hit unlock on remote.Is this factory?

Yes, this is normal. The vehicle has an immobilizer as part of the antitheft package. Hitting unlock not only unlocks the doors, but also disables the immobilizer feature.
