SOURCE: Parking brake is stuck on and car won't move.

hoq long has the parking brake been on? it may be rusted in place...usually if it is you may need to replace the parking brake cable.... but a quick fix may be remove the rubber plugs on the inside of the rear drums and use a flat screw driver to lift the adjusting lever and turn the adjusting screw gear back to release the brake shoes from the drum.... so depending on if the cableis rusty you may try wd-40 to loosen the cable? on maybe you have to replace the cable.

Elantra won't start and moves when it's in park

I'm going to say something happened to the cable between the shifter and the transmission. There is a switch on the transmission that prevents you from starting the engine in anything other than park or neutral. The transmission is probably in reverse or drive which would allow it to roll.
Someone would need to check the lever on the trans where the shift cable is attached.

My 1996 silverado Z71 won't come out of park into drive

If you're on a hill, it can simply be really tough to move out of park. If that isn't the case, you'll need to call a tow truck and have it taken to a trans shop (may want to start looking around salvage yards for a transmission, while you're at it... typically a better solution that a rebuild).

2002 buick park avenue power drivers seat won't go up or down

The most common problem is the gear breaking under the seat. There is one motor to make the front go up and down and one motor to make the back go up and down. The front up/down motor is the easier one to replace. I have a video of one way to fix the up/down motors. I demo the back motor. Here is the link to my video:

I just had my brakes changed on my 2006 passat. Now the electronic parking break sensor won't stop beeping but everything works. How can I get the fault to go away so It will stop beeping

also if u take battery off for 10 mins, hook battery back up again, turn car on, hold in break paddle for 35 seconds, then still holding in break paddle hold in handbrake button for 10 seconds, release all and start car up, press break button a few times, turn car off again take out key, lock and open car then press break button again and now all should b back to normal

My car won't start sometimes and when I move the gear shifter a little it starts right up. Is the neutral safety switch bad?

No, It sounds like it is working fine, just a little worn out, A lot of cars have to be coaxed into park to start. Just moving the shifter will do it, the switch itself is very sensitive, as you have found out. It only has to move a fraction to lose contact. It is a fairly easy job to change if it drives you nuts. But I wouldn't fix it till it breaks. It is located on the left side of the tranny where the linkage hooks up. Hope this helps.

My break lights won't go out. I'm told it's a break light switch problem but I can 't locate the switch

Hi the brake light switch is located on your brake pedal.
If you follow the brake pedal as it goes under the dash ( you may need to take off a panel below
the steering columm for better access ) You will see the switch, it has a plunger on it which moves with the brake pedal movement.
These switchs are not to expensive.
I hope i have been of some help to you
