I haven't done one of these before, but quite often there will be cam/ crank sensors in this general area. Are you sure they all got reconnected?

Hi James:
The hose (or line) will be threaded on at each end. Just unscrew the couplings and install the replacement. Then top up the fluid.

Grand am 2000 Pontiac 2.4 won't crank over after i replaced the water pump?

It's not timed right. You have to get the crank, cams, water pump and oil pump all lined up in sync and be spot on. One small tooth out and it will not start up.

I have a 1999 Pontiac grand am v6. When the cars temperature is at 200 and I park it when I go to start it, it doesn't want to start. It takes a while to get it to start. But after I get it to start...

Check your ignition, battery cables, have your starter and alternator tested for defects, also it is recommended to flush and change your coolant as seasons change, during the summer, it's best to run water in the radiator instead of Anti-Freeze, and during the winter, run 50/50. You may also want to have your engine checked for compression problems, replace your thermostat, and radiator hoses, check your water pump, and heads for cracks or warps. I own a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix SE.

this is a very big job, I have the same car, it is located at the bottom rear of the engine, you need to remove the timing chain housing, timing chain turns the water pump, and also remove the exhaust manifold, takes no less than 6 hours in a shop on a lift

1999 Pontiac Grand Am Overheating

It is probably the problem. To make shure that need to change the gaskets, one of the symptoms use to be thet the temp rises when you are running at speed 50+ average, where is supposed that the car gets a lot of air due by the speed and nobody thinks that will be overheated.
