Question about 1993 Ford Taurus

Bucks speratically. runs fine then tach goes to zero and idles like a top fuel, up and down quickly. if driving when starts acting funny it bucks terribly. replaced ign. module, alt, batt, have a friend that is pointing at the crank sensor. lookin for some confirmation and possible schematic of how to change it.

    its not a vaccume problem since it is not constant. it can run a day and run like a scalded dog and the next be fine the first time you run it and then run it again then the tach goes to zero and the car starts bucking due to the speratic idle of the engine. then push the clutch in and it stops bucking but still idles speratic. then will clear up and run fine.

    Sounds like the engine are getting false air, check the vacuums and the psv valve in top of the cylinder head lid.

The tach gets it's signal from the coil. chck the conncetion at the coil maybe dirty or loose. hope this helps

2002 pontiac montana. the engine will stall out on me completely while driving down the road. the tach falls to zero then starts jumping back n forth while my foot is on the gas. at times if i let off...

Is the check engine light on ?
If one of the sensors fails, the light should come on and set a code in the computer.
If not, it could be a problem with the fuel system, such as low fuel pressure.
You could be loosing power to the fuel pump relay or the coil pack.

2000 hyundai sonata tach and spedomoter sudden drop to zero and shoot up speratically, idle chang while driving and died . not getting spark. Cam sensor or crank sensor?

check ignition fuse if fuse okay problem in ignition coil or ignition module crankshaft sensor camshaft sensor.fault could be in the ecu best to code scan vechicle before buying new parts.many things will cause no spark conditions.

Dash goes dead and sometimes the truck fires & stalls quickly.

GM is known for faulty ignition switch on that model.

1.Start by changing plugs and wires. 2.Check for vacuum leaks. With the engine running, wigglr every hose you can see, to make sure nothing is loose or cracked. 3.Change fuel filter. 4.Check timing. 5.Check air control valve. 6.Check idle control sensor.

1994 f-350 7.3 turbo diesel.tach reading 0 rpm's at idle speed.

yea the 93 to 95 trucks never had a tach that works very long
and first the Tach does not make the od light blink or ck engine lgt
the crank trigger does this little thing is located right in middle front of engine between the vac pump and pwr steering pmp looks like a brass bolt with wires comming out of the back of it costs about 30 bucks (don't forget the locktite blue)
now that should fix the od lights and the ck engine but it may not fix the tach thats done in the tach driver module on back of tach in dash
you can replace this but my vote it's too expensive I did mine just fine with a after market one(50 bucks), bolted it right in front of old one, it hooks up super easy gets it's signal off the alternator stator

im sort of suprized it starts ok with a bad crank trig (eec needs to see +50 rpm to start fuel flow to injectors )

any good shop with a eec scanner can see this in just seconds

You probably have a faulty sensor at the transmission.

Go to your local parts store, and they can give you the part and how to install it. It's pretty easy.
