Question about 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

1 Answer

Noises I had replaced the right front wheel bearing on my truck. It is a 2000 Chevy Silverado 4X4 2500 series. The problem is intermittent and it is usually at higher speeds, 80kph and above. The noise is like a rubbing grinding noise and like I said it doesn't happen all the time. When I settle down at a constant speed the noise greatly diminishes AND from time to time when I put in reverse there seems to be a squeaking noise. I am gonna check the levels of the diffs and transfer case tomorrow, thank you for your time.

Hi...your problem might be coming from your front wheel bearing hubs. They are know to cause this problem as they wear out and eventually have to be replaced.

Vibration NOISE in front end of 2000 Chevy Blazer. Any suggestions??

Check the front wheel bearings .... very common . While driving turn the wheel gently from side to side and see if the noise changes .. this will load and unload the bearings.

I have a 2006 Chevy silverado, when it's in 4 wheel drive I get a squealing noise from the front end when I get it up to about 40 MPH.

you need a might new hub internal bearing wiped out the seal goes and grease escapes and then bearing goes check for oil around both left and right hubs or check axle oil level and oil around housing

1998 chevy cavalier 2.2l wheel noise

usually if noise is made when turning right it would be the right wheel bearing easiest way to check would be to lift the car off the ground on that side until tire clears the ground and spin the wheel to see if it makes noise also try grabbing the wheel on the top and bottom at the same time and see if you can move the wheel back and forth checking for slack.

1999 chevrolet silverado 1500 4.3L long box

it is almost impossible to solve without hearing it in person, but some things to check are the front brakes, front wheel bearings, tires, and loose suspension parts.
