Question about 2004 Dodge Ram 1500
J Yesterday while driving My 2004 ram 1500 it was working good, So I shut it off for a minute on a right angle slant. Next time I tried starting it just couldn't quite start its turning over and trying to fire up but something else must be wrong and I've already checked My spark plugs but they are fine.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I had a similar problem and believe it or not it was the CAT. An easy way to test for this is to remove the O2 sensor right in front of the CAT. Once you removed it, plug it back in while unscrewed from the exhaust pipe and start up the truck. If it runs fine, the CAT is your problem. This is just a guess and it would be an easy and very cheap($0) test. You did not say if the truck was diesel or gas. Mine is gas that was exhibiting the same problem as yours...good luck!

i had the same problem in a dodge ram pick up. ended up being the coil. when the coil got hot my truck would die or not start again until the engine had cooled down. replaced the coil, and whalaaaaah. no more trouble. good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SOURCE: I HAVE A 1996 INTREPID.
Maybe check the flex plate. I had a 94 concorde with a similar problem. Scanner said it was the cam and crank sensors. The flex plate can get a crack around the bolt pattern which allows it to shimmy when running. throwing off the cam and crank somehow as the mechanic tried to explain to me.
