Question about 1999 Lincoln Town Car
Light in dash states the Cruise control is on
There is a cruise control canister that is part of the throttle mechanism,,,and it has a plunger on one side ...other side connects to your throttle cables...check the hose leading to the plunger side of that canister....sometimes it pulls off...or gets damaged...try replacing that hose with a new one. that hose is connected to the transmission.. the transmission develops a vacuum based on your speed, then that level of vacuum controls that canister, then that canister moves in proportion with your throttle cable thus maintaining your speed. hope this helps.
