You need to check compresion and timing I have gave you a link for the timing . compression should be over 75 lbs. I have just replaced a piston and head gasket on a similar vehicle because it blew between cylinders and two of the cylinders and burnt the piston. It was just pushing compression from one cylinder to the other .

Hi, the injectors may be malfunctioning.also, make sure the shop cleared all air out the fuel lines during the fuel system repair. sometimes, air can become trapped in the lines during fuel pump and filter replacement.

you can pull the line away from the couple near the fuel pump or filter and most of the air will escape. be careful. the pressure may be high when you uncouple. if there is air in the lines, it will take time for it to purge itself. a full tank should purge it. check to make sure the injectors are firing off as well. you should hear a little rapid click when near one of the injectors whe its starting or running.

Try checking if the ignition is OK, if it also did not turn off may be a faulty ignition problem.

Hi sorry, you test the voltage from ignition cylinder.

If the car does not turn off it is generally the ignition or the ignition switch that is located inside the steering column.
Replace first the ignition switch, if that does not solve the problem, replace ignition cylinder.

3 things keep a motor from starting.1. NO SPARK, 2. NO FUEL,. 3 ENGINE DAMAGE. I SUSPECT IT IS THE IGN MODULE WHICH IS INSIDE THE DISTRIBUTER. cHECK TO SEE IF IT HAS SPARK.. iF IT DOES THE IGN MODULE IS NOT THE PROBLEM. iF IT DOES HAVE SPARK CHECK TO SEE IF IT IS PUMPING FUEL.. DO THIS BY SQUIRTING A LITTLE FUEL INTO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD THROUGH THE INTAKE AIR HOSE RIGHT BEFORE IT CONNECTS WITH THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. .. iF THE MOTOR FIRES AND TRYS TO RUN YOU KNOW FUEL IS THE PROBLEM. IN WHICH CASE IT COULD BE A CLOGGED FUEL FILTER OR A INOPERTIVE FUEL PUMP. iF IT HAS FUEL AND SPARK LOOK FOR A BROKEN OR STRIPPED CAM TIMING BELT. NOT TURNING THE CAM OR CAMS.

Have 93 saturn sc2 parked for about 2 years, has new battery and new gas, has power, engine turns over but doesnt fully crank, could fuel pump be problem? if so how much and how big a problem to fix is it?

there are tools to check the line pressure. it is 17 years old and the fuel pump did its job as of 2003. pump is in the gas tank and you have to drop the tank to replace it. lots of work. i would check the line pressure, the injectors could be gummed up after 2 years.

I have a 1993 saturan i that is not getting fire to the plugs. i am wanting to know also if there is some kind os sensior in the front bumper that would make this happen. i was involved in a acciedent...

The air bag system would not stop the car from starting even after air bags deploy the car will start and run . ther are accearometers in the front sides and middle of the hood and in the computer but not in the rear. So you have a bad coil or a fuel pump out. My guess is the fuel pump. since the 93 Saturn is a moduale body it is possible the accident damagd the wiring harness. Get your insurance to fix it.

Check to see it th chain guides are worn. this can cause a retarded or advance on timing. Also do a compression check if you can, this will show that the valves are opening and closing on time. Run some injection cleaner through it first as a sticky injector could also be an issue.
