Toyota Camry Altise 2005 Air Conditioner Not Working

Basically my air conditioner and demister for the back window has stopped working. This happened a couple of weeks ago and I replaced the fuse and it seemed to work again. This time around, I have changed the fuse again and its not working. Not too sure what to do...bit reluctant to spend hundreds of dollars at the mechanics if there's a simple solution. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

SOURCE: 2005 Toyota Tacoma Air Conditioner Not Working

Quick tip that might help. Under the glove box is the blower fan, check the plugs that run to it make sure they have a good connection. then give the blower fan a little tap, mine was just stuck. could have been from dust or something. Or a plug might have been loose.

The air conditioning in my 2005 T&C stopped working. Right before it stopped there was a "burnt" smell coming through the vents. What happened?

No air coming from air conditioning vents
  1. Check the air conditioner fuse and replace as necessary.
  2. Air conditioner system discharged. Have the system evacuated, charged and leak tested by an MVAC certified technician, utilizing approved recovery/recycling equipment. Repair as necessary.
  3. Air conditioner low pressure switch defective. Replace switch.
  4. Air conditioner fan resistor pack defective. Replace resistor pack.
  5. Loose connection, broken wiring or defective air conditioner relay in air conditioning electrical circuit. Repair wiring or replace relay as necessary. Air conditioner has a smell when used
    1. The air conditioner evaporator drain hose is blocked or partially restricted, allowing condensation to build up around the evaporator and drainage tray. Clear the drain hose where it exits the passenger compartment.
    2. Check compressor clutch wiring, electrical connections and compressor clutch, and repair or replace as necessary.

Front Air Conditioner Won't blow

Sounds like a blower resistor... you will have to take it to a repair shop. Isuzu is dumping its passenger vehicles entirely in 2009, and the Ascenders are basically GMC Envoy SUVs, though GMC will not honor any repair work on the rebranded Isuzus.

Best bet is to trade it in on a Toyota Highlander or Sequoia amd save yourself future headaches...
