No when I push the clutch in around 2000 rpm to shift the rpms will raise on there own and hang there. I've replaced tps cam senson fuel filter plugs and wires cleaned maf sensor and throttle body with no change at all.

Trying to remove distributor cap on 2001 gmc jimmy sls

It has a screw on each side of the cap. Loosen those and it should come off. 58f52b4d-a157-4177-9d85-467f8129077a.jpg

On my 2001 GMC jimmy sls, when the fuel guage gets near half full it drops to empty and lately when really full it reads empty until a few gallons are gone. What is the problem and how do I fix it?

you probably have a bad fuel level sensor in the fuel tank.you will have to remove the fuel tank to replace the sensor.the contacts on the sensor will break causing the fuel gauge to be inacurate.you can buy the sensor without having to buy the whole fuel pump assembly.

2001 GMC Jimmy rough jump into 1st & 2nd gear after a stop

Had the same problem on my 2001 GMC Jimmy, but my reverse was also out!!!! Was the transmission!!! But it also did the same thing when starting from a dead stop! Had to rev up the RPMs to get it to shift, but once it got into the higher gears, it drove fine!!!! My mother also had a 2001 GM S-10 with the same problem and it was her tranny as well!!! Hope this is not your problem because it is not cheap........a friendly mechanic charged $1300 to replace the tranny with a used one with lower miles!! He also said that these models of GMs were notorious because the spline gear used in these models were made of a lower grade of metal and were prone to wear out prematurely!!!!! I also first suspected the shift sensor before I talked to a professional!!!!!
