The B16a will fit in the 86 as far as the positioning, and motor mounts go. Of course you will have to upgrade the ecu, or at least get a piggy back unit for the extra fuel to run that monster. Hope that helps. Oh yea, and I am pretty sure the tranny should fit, but you may want to check the codes/serial #'s at your local dealer.

What engines can fit in a 1997 honda del sol

Assuming you have a 1500. You can fit a d series, D16a1 or D16y8 (120-130bhp), a B16 (150) a B16a (JDM 160), a B18 from a Integra Tpre R (187), a K20 from a RSX, or a H22 from a Prelude. Most engines need a little work and wiring harnesses, but check it out thoroughly online on forums to udnerstand what is involved.

My personal choice would be a B16 or B18, light engines that are bulletproof.

Go for it :)

In short yes the ACT clutch would work fine I have done the conversions myself and I've mated a B16 engine to a B18 gearbox. Be sure to uprate your drive shafts and brake system. ATB

I HAVE AN EXTRA 1.5 CIVIC MOTOR. WOULD IT BE WORTH GOING THROUGH AND PUTTING MONEY INTO FOR A PERFORMANCE OUTCOME. AND IF SO WHAT WOULD BE SOME SPECS TO GO OFF OF.

Not worth it you have a D15 DPI with the money you would spend moding that engine you could source a B16a or a B18c and have a much more reliable and mod accepting engine to work with. Plus if you can get the B18c you get a DOHC 1.8L VTEC with an LSD 5speed tranny with wide aftermarket support and extremely cheap to mod.
