I had a cat conv. clog up on me. I removed it and replaced it with a piece of pipe. Truck ran great.

no not toxic. you can sell your old one for around $100. most have platnuim in them. if you remove it it is a federal offense up to $50,000 fine if you are caught. another example of goverment too big. alot of muffler shops will run you a custom exhaust for off road. you do not need the cat for off road.

You may have what they call a pre-cat. as well as the actual converter two. People shoul;d always check the pre-cat before the main one if you think something got stopped up and it won't start. Hope this is a little help. Raz
