Power windows wont work

I just replaced my master switch for my power windows. It is a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse. The power windows will not work the power locks do. I checked the fuse it was fine. I dont know if there is more the one fuse or if there is something else I need to check. The fuse I checked was under the hood.

I checked under the dash. The fuse box pannel does not list a fuse for the windows. It lists the following: Anti theft, Turn lamp, Back up lamp, Heater, Door lock, Wiper, Gauge, Defogger, Sun Roof, Elc 4, Cigar Lighter, Heater Relay.

I dont think the windows are jammed, one is rolled up the other is down. When I push the window buttons it doesnt make a noise. I dont think its the window lift motors either.

where do you put the needles on the motor and how do you do it?

  • pcktclbs Mar 13, 2009

I think on eclipse you have a multi relay, and there is no single power windows relay.

Test and eventually replace the power windows multi switch.

It happens with me few years ago.

Check the motor. Either the motor is faulty, you need to repair that or if you open the hood, you might see, there is always a plastic that keeps all the connections , due to which the power window works, that might be worn or broken out.

Thanks.

Whenever you open the hood, that plastic would be in the centre.if that plastic is worn out, you would face these issue and that's common issue in all cars ..

Have you checked to make sure all the switches on all the windows are connected? if one is slightly disconnected on some vehicles none of the switches will work.

You may need new regulators in the door which makes the window go up and down. Without that, the window can to automatically move.

Pop the door panels and take a look at the motors. check for lose wires that connect to the switch. make sure the motor hasn't failed by using a voltage needle on the motor.

There should be a fuse box under the dash. that is where you will find the window fuse.

Why wont the power windows in my 2004 Mitsubishi eclipse rs work?

If this problem has to do with just one window , then the windows motor has to be replaced . If all of the windows don't work , check the power cable or the fuses : there is a fuse box under the hood .

I have a 95 Mitsubishi eclipse that will not start. There is no power to coil or fuel pump. I have replaced asd relay and fuel pump relay also the camshaft sensor. What could be the cause? Help please.

A broken or corroded wire in the ASD relay socket, a blown fuse, a loose bulkhead connector, or even a faulty ignition switch- not the key portion, but the electrical portion where the wiring harness attaches to the steering column. Using a test light, a buzzer or a volt meter you can see if the switch is getting power- and also see which terminals are getting power when the ignition switch is moved.

You spent too much money or you have a whole lot more to spend. Bench test your starter beside your car to see if it works not connected to your car. If your car is a standard, push the car in neutral and put it in drive. See if the engine turns over. If you have an automatic, hook a socket to the crankshaft and try to move the pulley. Yes I am saying your engine may not be moving. Keep in touch.

Problems in the fuel line

If it's like my 97, they are located on the firewall just to the right of the master cylinder. There are two of them and they are about 1" square with harnesses plugged into them. I had and intermintent problem with my 97 not starting. I took the rear seat out and turned the ignition on without trying to start it. You should hear the fuel pump kick on for a few seconds as it pressurizes the system. No whirrr, no power to the pump (or the pump is bad). There are two relays and I replaced the cheaper of the two to fix my problem.

Won't start, fuel pump not getting any power

Check the fuel system2_bing.gif to make sure it's getting gas. Take the back seat out and turn the ignition on without cranking the car. You should hear the fuel pump make noise for a few seconds as it pressurizes the system and then turns off. If you don't hear anything, it would probably be the pump or one of the two relays on the firewall2_bing.gif next to the master cylinder.

1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse flasher

Start by checking the fuses then move to the light bulbs. If those are ok check the flasher switch and then the turn signal switch. More than likely you will need to replace the flasher switch.
