1995 Mazda 626 -what is the firing order on a 2,5lt engine? I have # one turned to the top and the timing mark on the crank is right on but the rotor is on #6 plug. Doesn't make sense to me. When I turn it...

I read that the firing order was '1,2,3,4,5,6' which is easy to remember: prev.gif next.gif FIRING ORDERS NOTE: To avoid confusion, remove and tag the spark plug wires one at a time, for replacement. If a distributor is not keyed for installation with only one orientation, it could have been removed previously and rewired. The resultant wiring would hold the correct firing order, but could change the relative placement of the plug towers in relation to the engine. For this reason it is imperative that you label all wires before disconnecting any of them. Also, before removal, compare the current wiring with the accompanying illustrations. If the current wiring does not match, make notes in your book to reflect how your engine is wired. Timing my 1998mazda 626 6cyl having problems all day...What do i do?

Hi,
Questions...
Is it trying to fire?
Are you getting fire to the plugs? If so,
double check the firing order, 1,2,3,4,5,6
Make sure wires aren't in wrong places.
Did you replace timing belt? If so, recheck timing mark locations. Are you getting fuel to the cylinders?
Anything else about the engine a person should know for consideration?
I know... mundane questions... but motor 101 "if you're getting fire and gas, something out to happen".
Hope it helped a little... Good luck!
