Have you checked to see if the radiator cap is defective? If the radiator cap is where the leak is, I would purchase a new cap.

Never take the cap off of a hot radiator or you'll get scalded.

There could be many causes for a small leak, including foreign debris, small crack or loose hose. Using just water with no antifreeze can damage your radiator in sub 32 temps so always mix with coolant/antifreeze. One temp solution is buying stop leak from a auto part store, another remedy I've heard work is putting black pepper (finely ground) in your system to stop small leaks and it actually works. Good luck.

My guess is that your electric fan is NOT operating at all. Under normal conditions, just going down the highway, your cooling system will function just fine without a fan running. The air flow through the radiator is adequate to keep things cool. However, when you stop, you quickly get into an "overheat" situation. Actually, you should be able to hear your fan begin operating when your engine temperature starts climbing or your air conditioner requires the fan to do its thing. Note: If you've ever severely overheated your engine, your problems may be worse than just a fan not running, but you really do need to confirm whether your fan is operating correctly, or not. Another note: I had a vehicle with a tendency to overheat when stopped. It turned out to be a faulty (leaking) pressure cap on the cooling system.

My 94 Feroza radiator runs dry but theres no leaks? after a trip i always hear it boiling.. is it my thermostat? or??

ya the overflow is just for that pourpose. that is fine if it does that. just dont let it run out of water/antifreeze. I have had cars that just seemed to drink water before but they did not have leaking head gaskets or any other problems that stopped them from running for as long as I needed them to. keep an eye on your temp gauge, dont let it overheat. keep water or antifreeze with you at all times, replace the thermostat if you can afford to, then flush the cooling system . good luck. God is a good mechanic, and cheep too !!! hope all is well with you. Tim

It sounds like you have a clogged radiator. You need to flush it out . If it won't unclog you will need to replace it. Sometimes if you ever use stop leak in your radiator, you need to flush that out if you ever replace anti freeze or add more stop leak. Remove radiator cap and start car and let it warm up to operating temp. Fill radiator where you can see the fluid with cap off. While looking at antifreeze gently give the engine a little gas and see if the antifreeze circulates by going down. If it doen't then it is either water pump, thermostat or a plugged up radiator. Good luck.

My 1999 avlalon runs hot i have change water pump thermostat and radiator fan work but it still runs on the highway or sometimes when i idle

Hm. did you put a 50/50 solution of antifreeze in or pure antifreeze solution? If pure antifreeze is in there, then it won't cool properly and may overheat.

That's just one cause. Another cause is poor circulation in the block.

A flush may be indicated if you haven't done that.

Good luck on getting your car to not run so hot.

Also, the normal temp. can go up to 220 deg. F or 230 deg. F and still be normal in a GM car. Just don't want any leaks.

it could be antifreeze that was on the frame after changing the radiator the best way to tell is run car through a car that has the bottom wash or in a self wash and on... rinse... spray the area around radiator ...then check again later for antifreeze on ground

There are radiator sealants available at many auto parts stores. I personally have never been able to get them to work though another good way to seal a leak if it is on the aluminum part of the radiator is to soder it with silver soder. And no i don't think pepper will stop a radiator leak.
