BOUGHT A GpS AND FOUND OUT NO pOWER AT THE 12VDC COURTESY OUTLET. VERIFIED THAT UNIT WORKED, NARROWED IT DOWN TO OUTLET. LOOKED AT FUSE LEGEND IN CAR, NO MENTION OF OUTLET FUSE ASSIGNMENT I DO NOT HAVE A MANUAL, AND CANNOT READ pDF FILES ON WIFES pC

Check all of your fuses then check if theres any power to it. Check the voltage is high enough. Some adapters may not fit the outlet, check the end of the adapter to ensure it sticks out far enough. See if the gps has an internal fuse as well.

I have had very good luck with just bypassing the whole entire system. These things are KNOWN to fail and can cost a fortune to fix. Ive been dealing with these antitheft systems for years, and bypassing is the only way ive found that will fix this problem forever and not cost you an arm and a leg. Replace the Aux Pwr fuse. On the 2008 Equinox, this fuse is in the fuse block under the hood. It is fuse number 3, 20A (yellow), located on the left side as you're looking it, in the slot immediately forward of the fuse puller tool. Way too late for Kevin256, but I just did this on my daughter's '08 Equinox and it fixed the problem.
