SOURCE: opel astra headlight adjustment

two screws on each headlight control the direction the headlights are aimed. One screw, usually at the top but sometimes below the headlight, adjusts the headlight up and down. The other screw, located to one side, controls the headlight from right to left. Turning the appropriate screw one direction or the other will change the direction the headlight points.
In order to aim your headlights you need to have a flat vertical surface you can aim your headlights at in front of a level surface on which to park the car. If your driveway is level your garage door is the perfect place to aim your headlights.
The tools you will need for this job are simple. Masking tape is used to mark where the headlights are to be aimed and a screwdriver is needed to adjust the headlights. A tape measure will be necessary to measure the distance of the vehicle to the surface you're using to check the aim and to measure the up and down distances from your marks

SOURCE: how to set the twin cam ,on a renault megane

a renault ,real euro car this one ,no problem here at all ,bring the pistons to TDC the bring back a bit so no piston is at the top ,mark it whilst its at the top with a thin white paint mark on the sprocket ,then back it down a bit .fit head because i sure the head bolts are under the cams ,then fit cams and make sure the inlet and exhaust valves are closed on no1 .no4 should be open with the cam lobes pointing down ,now look for the timing marks,they could be a lug on the cam pointing at something or a slot on the back of the camshaft that has to horizontal with the head ,or even a hole in the front pulley that aligns with a hole indent in the head that has an 8mm bolt push in to hold gear wheel in place -then when you find the marks bring the bottom sprocket back to the mark ,the actual mark is on the flywheel as i remember a special tool with a spring loaded pin to locate flywheel is used ,the fit the belt ,seem to remember a white line here on the belt that aligns with the cams a well ?? look iam old and i forget things ,then make sure you turn engine over twice on bottom pulley with a ratchet to ensure valves clear before starting -

Hi.how many teeth does an opel vita 1.4l have on the timing belt.it has twin-cam and 16valves.i tried to fit a 162 tooth belt but its short

I just googled your question and there is a suggestion of 169 teeth required on at least a few of those models.

The twin cam models have a fairly wide belt which can seem short to the uninitiated and they can be a struggle to fit. If your 162 tooth belt nearly fits then perhaps you aren't trying hard enough.

If the 162 tooth belt is short by a long way then maybe you need 169.

The best way to be sure is count the teeth on the original belt.

if you buy the best belt ,Gates, it comes with instructions
and the distributor does not need to come off...

but if doing a new head?, with distributor out here is
the method.

firing order 1,3,4,2 CCW rotor direction, do not read the books that fib about this direction (most do) not suzuki books, they show it correctly.

the instructions on all new gates belts have that, and Dayco.

G16 a engine or B engine, the steps are different,
the 8valve ""A" engines needs valves lash set very loose.
G16A (TBI engine 8v) black top engine.

G16B MPI , 16valve (top of engine shouts, 16 vavles)

the factory pages are there and the maxed out steps way is there.
every itty bitty steps, and the 15 ways to mess it all up.
see those false timing marks
they used the cam cog wheel on 2 engines, one 3 cylinder other 4.
making this tricky, if not alert.

the tracker the GM badged car has a vin that tells what engine,
vin 6 or VIN U
6 is for 16 valves
and a GM RPM tag on the glove box.
LS5 = 8v
LO1 = 16v

I am needing to replace the timeing belt on my Daewoo Lanos 1998 please could you send me a diagram

its only a opel astra engine and easy to do but you must have the right tools ,their is a special for locking the cam gears in position and another for the crank ,but just the cam gear locking tool is good enough ,i think your engine is just a 8 valve so its only one cam .bring engine around to tdc no1 ,then slacken bolts on the water pump 3 bolts and turn the water pump to slacken the cam belt .bit of white paint to mark gears .make sure you turn engine 360? with a socket and rachet to make sure valves clear before you try starting it though .

I need a diagram for the timming belt for a daewoo nubira 2000

what model ?? 8 valve?? 16 valve?? petrol ?? diesel?? .Remove np one spàrk plug and put a long thin screwdriver into hole and turn engine till the piston is at the top and then look for timing marks ,if you still cant see them paint the cam gear .with a couple of spots of white paint ,the lower crank mark it when the keyway points at the top of bottom of the engine.If i remember rightly these opel engines have the timing mark as a white line on the belt .But mark it anyway and always rotate the engine 360% by hand to make sure the valves clear and you have it right
