2003 chevrolet blazers alarm sounds without cause, domelgt&lock is
Lets try this again, one gentleman solution was to take it to a shop for repair, well thanks I couldn't come up with that on my own..lol Problem is the dome light stays on, auto door lock won't lock the doors and when put in gear the car is supposed to lock the doors but won't. Also when you lock the car and leave the alarm will go off all on its own for no reason at all times of day and night. I took it to the dealer and they thought it was a faulty drivers door latch and replaced it but that didn't solve it. It seems to be electrical or computer issue that you would think the dealer would have checked can anyone offer any solutions or experienced this before..help!

Do you have a remote starter on the truck? if you do try disconnecting it first to see if this solves the problem because it sounds like your security system is shorting out and the remote starter can sometimes cause this if not properly installed. also call Schram auto and truck parts they sell and specialize in only GM parts 1-800-292-1032

Sounds like you have a short where you are moving the wiring. Remove tape/wire loom from the harness and see if you find bare or broken wires. They are very prone to do this in the wiring between the door and the body. Repair problem wires and you should be okay. Alarm is most likely being triggered by the same short. Happy hunting!
Okay, lets first try something, go to the car and use the key to lock and then unlock the driver door, this should shut down the alarm, if it doesnt work then try pass/side door lock then unlock with the key, this should start the car, this factory alarm wired through the computers so you may be driving with alarm going you may need to unhook horn wire at front of grill, also this is important!!! are you sure the car battery is good, if the battery is low it would cause this problem, the alarm would go nuts because of low voltage, try jumping it if the key doesnt work, hook cables to it then use the clicker to disarm and try it, let me know what happens i would like to know, good luck and i hope this helps.
lol...turn the key on..there a reset button on the dash that show mile how far u drive..well push and hold while the ignition on and engine off until it blink..than start tap it until you came across door lock/alarm...ok ...here the trick..leave the setting on the alarm. than u can press an hold unlock n lock until u hear the door lock than u release turn key off n on than off again...and than try your transmitter
THAT PIECE HAS TO BE REPLACED UNDER THE DASH,I CAME ACROSS THAT PROBLEM BEFORE. I FORGOT THE NAME OF IT .THAT PART PREVENTS YOU FROM PUTTING IT IN GEAR WITHOUT PRESSING THE BRAKE.(SAFTEY DEVICE) ITS ON THE STERING COLUME
