Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

I drive a 1999 Lincoln continental. Just recently I started leaking coolant. Today I started it, it starts but then stalls out once in drive. My battery light came on as well. I finally got it started but once I started moving, my power steering went out. Please help!!

SOURCE: 97 lincoln continental says door is ajar.

the door switches are part of the door latch, the easiest way to remedy this is to spray liberal amounts of WD40 into each latch and open and close the each door a few times, this should loosen up the latch and solve your problem.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: i have a 2000 chevy malibu, battery light came on

check your serpentine belt it sounds like it may have stretched or broken. Without the belt working properly your car will overheat due to the waterpump not activating and neither will the power steering or alternator

SOURCE: my 95 lincoln continental wont start i replaced

If it has no spark you might try to replace the ign. module by the drivers side hood hinge attached to fender . Bought this part at pull a part for less than ten dollars. Put it on and cranked right up. Be sure t seal the water out when replacing.

My 1999 Lincoln contintal started leaking fluid while driving down the hwy. I pulled into a store and it all drain out. What caused this and how much will it cost to fix.

I am sorry about your misfortune. You need to determine what type of fluid it was. If it is coolant it is usually a green or pink. Cooling systems can be pressurized and be tested to find leaks. If it was any other type of leak, proper visual inspection will determine usually where to start.

1999 lincoln continental will not start when cold, under 25 degrees. turns over fine! tyrs to fire once and a while. i have changed plugs, oil and have tried starting fluid

you need to have the engine coolant switch checked, since the computer relies solely on sensors, the ect tells the computer how cold or hot it is so the computer will make it a rich or lean mixture to start the engine,if it tells the computer that it is 75 degrees the computer will lean the mixture like starting a car in the winter without a choke.

1992 Lincoln Continental engine/gasket problem

These vehicles are historic for head gasket problems. Ford had issued a recall because there where so many problems. The new head gasket is a different material than the original. Cost to replace varies by shop and geographic location, plan on around 1100 bucks.
