Question about Chrysler Cars & Trucks
The malfuntion indicator light stays on in my chrysler 300c 2010
If you mean the check engine light, you have to get the computer scanned for trouble codes, then after the repairs are made, the codes are erased and the light will stay off.

SOURCE: malfunction indicator lights
Have the car scanned at AutoZone for codes in the computer (it's free - a dealer will charge you). Post the codes here and I can help you. There are a ton of things that could cause the problem you have - the codes are essential to figuring out the problem.

If it is an error produced by the engine control system, you should be able to clear it using an OBD II reader. OBD=on board diagnostics. You have to find the plug for the unit, but just plug it in and the machine will read it. I usually borrow one from the local car parts store--give an ID and they will let you temporarily borrow it. Make sure you read the error code as well. There may be some interesting info about what produced the error message. Good luck.

I would have it check out, have computer diag. done, some people don't and then it turns out to be some thing major when it could have being some thing minor. Have it check out, you can also take it to Autozone and have the code's readed for free.

The malfunction indicator light(mil) can come on, if there is a problem in
1 or more of the vehicle's systems. Such as fuel/electrical or emissions.
To isolate the problem, the car needs to be scanned with an OBD II
(onboard diagnostic)scanner. You can stop by any of the auto parts chain store's(advance/auto zone/napa)and they will scan it for free.
Hope this helps.

Have you checked to see if the gas cap is on tight. New cars have a pressurized gas tank. It will set a light if it doesn't seal good.
