Question about Cars & Trucks
Proton Iswara 1,5 Automatic, Year 2000. When you start moving, 1st and 2nd gear shifting is normal. The problem is when shifting to 3rd gear and that is when there is a few seconds delay and the rpm goes up before 3rd gear is engaged. After moving for a couple of kilometers and slowing and changing gears this delay in shifting to 3rd gear disappears. Seems like when it is heated up all seem normal. Leave the car for a couple of hours and then start to drive again the same thing all over again. Automatic Transmission Fluid and Filter have both been changed 2 months ago. Some say it is the cable to the gearbox, some say it is the convertor and others say it needs a new gearbox. The car has done almost 240,000 kms and almost 13 years old. Regular serviced and maintained over the years. What do you think?

sounds like filter could be clogged, if it hasn't been changed in a while. you can try to replace throttle position sencer, it is like your old trans kinkenge system, only now, it is elect. it tells trans when to shift, like your speed sencer on trans doe's. both can make it act like it is.
