The check engine light indicates there is a problem with the emissions system and has nothing to do with oil or coolant level. It can be as simple as a loose gas cap. If the engine is running fine then just keep driving and have it repaired when you get back home. You will not damage anything by continuing to drive as long as the engine is running as it should.
