Question about 1989 Plymouth Acclaim
Has fairly new timing belt and fuel pressure sensor. Have to floor it to start and then runs terrible.
Could be a leaking injector or engine valve problem.
Have you checked compression on all cylinders ?

1. 1995 Plymouth Acclaim Sedan, 4 cylinders. 2.5 litter Repair Fuel Pump Steps or Procedure?
Replace the Fuel Pump and still not start.
2. What I need to do to remove the Fuel Pump and put the new one in?
Remove the ground cable or negative cable of the Battery.
There is not was pressure inside the gas tank, maybe because the fuel pump issue.
Was not easy repair job, to remove the filler neck of the gas tank. I have to disconnected first of the outside to be able to jiggle the filler neck to disconnect of the gas tank.
And I think was the start relay issue. I just bought the start relay and I will find out when I get home. When I should installed the start relay, will find if it was the Start Relay.

go to autozone.com and go to vehicle repair info and enter your make model year and then find your timing chain replacement info and pics
i don't think you have to worry about valve bumping on that motor.

Do me a favor and cycle the key to on, then off, then on, then off, then back to on,& leave it in the on position.(not start) Now watch & record any flashes of the check engine light. You will get a number of flashes, then a pause, then more flashes. for example: 3 flashes, pause, then 3 more, would be code 33. It will always be a 2 digit number. 2 flashes, pause then 5 flashes, is code 25. When you get 5 flashes, pause then 5 more, that's code 55 which means end of message. Get back to us with any codes that flash.
