If they all stopped working at once, it is a fuse or relay. Check your fuse box, yours may have the lid which shows what each fuse is. If so, pull out that fuse and check it to see if it is broken or not. Fuses are easy to replace and very cheap.
Let me know if that worked.

make sure power windows lock out switch on driver side not on position, that will cause power windows not work or you have faulty power window relay.

The windows in my 1998 ford explorer dont work all the time and i cant find the relay fuse or any fuse for the windows where is it?

Hi there:
CHeck in Passenger Fuse Panel (early drive side dashboard / will need open drive door) and look position 12, 7.5A for Power Window Relay, Washer Pump Relay.

Also, could be a problem with the power windows switch, harnesses, wires or ground connections.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

1998 ford explorer auto, 4h,4l. stuck in 4l

Hello, Try keeping your foot on the brake pedal. Then shift the gearshift to neutral and then turn the 4x4 knob to the position you wish.

If this does not work, verify your rear brake lights are working. Then look under the dash at the top of the brake pedal lever and try to position the switch so that it works.

Then go back to my opening statement.

I have a 1998 ford explorer and all the power windows stopped working at the same time.is there a common problem to cause this?

yes, the common are, the wirng going to driver door, if you open the door and look at the hinge area, there in the middle is a rubber boot that holds the wiring to that door. remove the boot and check for a broken wire or wires, good luck, hope this helps.

Need to replace fuse for the power windows... do not know which fuse port is for the power windows and I have no manual to assist me... does anyone know which fuse port holds the fuse to the power windows...

the power windows are controlled through the Body Control Module. this module controls the windows through a circuit breaker under the hood in the relay and fuse box located near the master cylinder, it is
Position #62 30A CB Power windows circuit breaker, I really doubt this is the problem, but check it, if u have a short circuit the circuit breaker will be hot to the touch.

Window stuck down on 1994 ford explorer

while holding the switch in the up position, bang on the middle part of the door panel, if the motor is stuck then this will usually unstick it. but if motor is running then you will need a new window regulator.
