Skoda fabia steering unlock problem

Hello - the car is fine but when starting I can't get the steering to unlock and therefore turn the key and start the car! It sometimes takes me 10 minutes. I am hoping there may be a known, simple solution, can anyone advise? Thanks

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Skoda Fabia 2004 1.4 tdi 75 bhp. Very sluggish to turn over, had new battery and alternator but still same. Alternator only puts outs 12.3 volts on tickover but no charging liight is on?

Does the battery light work? Do you trust this meter? If this is like most newer cars then the Alternators output voltage is computer controlled, you need the dealer to diagnose the issue and replace the computer is needed, it is a very expensive part so don't just throw one in there.

SOURCE: skoda octavia

You haven't given much detail about the car but long crank is normally associated with flooding. Dying out as well may occur due tyo too much fuel. CHECK FOR THAT.

I put the key in the lock and unlock the car and the windows come down its a skoda fabia 2010.

Hi Ian.
Your car is probably have the windows roll feature.
In other words, using the key in the driver door, lock the car and hold the key in lock position, the windows should close all the way up unless you release the key.
Same thing if you unlock and hold, the windows should roll down.
Let me know when you try it.
Good luck

How can i disable my skoda fabia alarm

First method to disable the alarm by using the remote control. The car will automatically lock if it is not opened in 30 sec.
Once you unlock the vehicle by inserting the key into the driver door you then have to insert the key into the ignition lock and switch the ignition on within 15 seconds after unlocking the door in order to deactivate the anti-theft alarm system. The alarm will be triggered if you do not switch on the ignition within 15 seconds. For more reference check out this video
