SOURCE: 2001 Hyundai Elantra door locking problem

there is a short or a signal from the un-locking switch that is triggering your locks.

you have a switch manually to lock and un-lock your doors, the unlocking circuit is making contact.

you can try playing with your switch to un-short the switch or open it up ang check it.

SOURCE: replacing battery cables

Don't feel bad I had the same problem getting mine off and I have been a heavy equipment mechanic for 23 years . These cables are like nothing I have ever seen . Under the bell shaped terminal is a brass cone with 6 fingers and they are connected to the stud which turns when you try to loosen the nut because it is bottomed out . The way it works is when you tighten the nut the fingers grab into the battery post and draw the cone towards the post and locks it tight . It is almost impossible to loosen it once it corrodes up , As it spins it will break off the fingers and ruin the terminal . If you can pull it straight up once it has broke free by turning it you maybe able to work with it better . Hope this helps

SOURCE: Replacing fuel filter

The fuel filter is in the tank on these models. You should be able to get to it through an access panel underneath the back seat.

Where is the fuel filter located on a 2001 Hyundai elantra

That fuel filter is in the fuel tank, attached to the fuel pump. Not a very difficult job. Remove the rear seat cushion, then remove the access panel to the pump. Remove the gas cap to relieve any pressure. Remove the ground wire and fuel lines, then remove the filter.

2001 Hyundai doesn't accuerate when it first starts. It hardly moves then slowly picks up speed.

I could b gas filter or the filter on fuel pump, or injectors most cars have gas filters on the drivers side railing on frame it's easy to change one bolt on holder and most have two clamps just remove clamps and bolt switch out put back. But be very careful it is pressurized once fuel line is removed fuel will squirt out turn face away.

How do i replace the fuel pressure damper on a 2001 hyundai elantra gls

My first question to you would be is why? They hardly ever go bad.
If you're having hard start, or "starving for fuel" conditions I would first run out (down) the majority of fuel in the tank then replace the fuel filter; you run it towards empty so that if you have a tank of bad gas it can cause a motor to behave badly. One you change the filter, put some fresh fuel in. If that doesn't help you should look at the fuel pump; you should have around 42 to 45psi on the out feed side of the pump. Once you have gone through those steps, then start looking at the damper.

My hyundai elantra needs a new fuel pump. does it have to be replaced professionally or can i do it myself?

From www.hmaservice.com

REMOVAL 1. Remove the rear seat cushion. 2. To reduce the internal pressure of the fuel lines and hoses, first start the engine and then disconnect the electrical fuel pump connector. Be sure to reduce the fuel pressure before disconnecting the fuel main pipe and hose otherwise fuel will spill out.

v5fl009a.gif 3. Disconnect the battery cable from the negative terminal of the battery. 4. Remove the high pressure hose and fuel return hose. 5. Remove the fuel pump assembly

I have hyndai elantra 2001 automatic sometimes hesitant to start.

Sounds like a fuel pressure problem. Check/inspect your electrical connections to the fuel pump (power & ground). Also, connect a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel line at the fuel injector rail - leave it connected so if and when you have this problem again, you will be able to determine if the cause is fuel pressure/pump.

I , i try to find the fuel filter for my hyundai elantra 2001

The fuel filter is located under the rear seat in a compartment above the fuel tank. Also, a filter sock at the base of the fuel pump located
in the fuel tank.

On 2001 models the fuel filter is part of the fuel pump. To replace the fuel filter, disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the back seat and take fuel pump cover off to get to the fuel pump. Then you have to 1) disconnect the electrical connector from fuel pump/fuel sending unit, 2) disconnect the high pressure hose and the fuel return hose from the fuel pump and 3) remove the fuel pump mounting flange screws. You can then lift the fuel pump and replace the filter.

Good luck and hope this helps
